I'm so nervous about the match!! My heart wants Liverpool to win, because we've had 4 shitty years and making the semis with all the crap about Liverpool being shit in the press, etc would be so very nice! But my brain says Juve, because Juve would have a better chance of beating chelski or bayern and winning it all. I hope it's a wonderful match, and the ultras don't go crazy. FORZA JUVE/You'll Never Walk Alone!!!
my dream scenario I admit would be liverpool advancing to play chelsea, and knocking them out......3 matches this year against them: away, they deserved to win. at anfield, we deserved to win. in the Carling final, if it hadn't been for Gerrard's own-goal (perhaps his worst moment in the red jersey, although it may have been the hideous yellow jersey) we would have won 1-0. but instead we lost all three matches, and I want revenge!!!!!!!

thats damn right. buuuuuuuuuuuuuut i wouldnt play 3 at the back. we are DEFINITELY going to concede if we play like that for 90 mins! at fiorentina we played like that for the second half and conceded.
Well, the formation would not really be only three at the back. Zambrotta will have the left flank all to himself, and he will have to cover both LB and left-wing like he usually does. So obviously with Zambrotta on the left by himself he will take which role he sees fit at the time. Or Capello will manage that..

Appiah should have been pretty rusty -- given all the bench-warming he's been doing. And earlier this season he's been simply dreadful at passing and at terrible decisionmaking. He cost us at least 3-4 points on his actions alone.

Yesterday his performance was surprisingly decent. Not great, but decent. He was only out there for a handful of minutes, and I thought Capello was insane for putting him in given his performances this year. But he made some good passes and some smart decisions in midfield. Something I can't say of Blasi lately.

In fact, lately I've been thinking we'd be better off with Ilary Blasi on the pitch instead. She's at least nicer to watch, even if she's going to be the mother of Totti's children (God help her).
Actually Greg, Appiah did not get the ball that much to make a fair judgement. He only made a few short passes, obviously something you and I could do. That was also when Fiorentina was trying to defend their one goal lead.

Guess what guys. :D

There are rumors streaming from England that Steven Gerrard is OUT for the return leg on Wednesday at the Stadio Delle Alpi. Supposedly the Liverpool Captain suffered a groin strain and will be out for the next couple matches.

The Gerrard loss would certainly help Juventus, however he was not the most influential player on the pitch last Tuesday. Pool still have many players who can cause our side trouble. They will lose their leader though.

I disagree, without Gerrard last week we wouldnt have won. He was indespensible in breaking down possible attacks from Nedved from midfield.

Hopefully he is ok to play.

Gerrard was successful at coming back to shutdown Nedved, however my point was that other Liverpool players did the damage going forward.

And I have not seen a Juventus team so miserable against high balls in my life over this past week.

I prefer Appiah over Blasi anytime right now.
Both of them make me want to faint TBH.

And without Gerrard Pool seems less dangerous, but tis does not mean that we should underestimate them. We should make use of this advantage and shut them down.

Gerrard injury boosts Juve Monday 11 April, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus have been given a boost ahead of their Champions’ League quarter-final second leg against Liverpool as Steven Gerrard is struggling to shake off a groin injury.

The England star is said to have aggravated the injury during Liverpool’s defeat at Manchester City on Saturday and he now faces a race against time to feature in Wednesday’s crucial game.

Gerrard did not take part in the warm-down after Saturday’s defeat and is said to have only an outside chance of making a recovery in time.

After playing a vital role in their first leg victory, Liverpool need their talismanic skipper fit, especially as fellow midfielder Xabi Alonso has only played one reserve game.

Juventus’ injury worries seem to have eased with both Emerson and David Trezeguet taking part in training yesterday.

The pair sat out Juventus’ draw against Fiorentina but are expected to play on Wednesday.

The injury to Gerrard is huge for Juve. No Stevie G and an unfit Xabi Alonso means we should be able to control the midfield and therefore dictate the tempo of the game. If Gerrard doesn't recover in time Liverpool are in real trouble. I don't think they can handle Camo, Neddy, Zlatan and DP without Gerrard.

I think if Blasi was benched and then included later in the game, he will be awsome
Yeah, make him fight for his place like Del Piero had to.
