I have the same feeling .Anyway it is the first penalty that he miss.He replaced Pirlo in that role since Pirlo missed two penalties. It's happening.Robben missed the penalty in the finals against Chelsea and everybody else Messi ,etc... I agree about his lack of confidence. That's why he was so nervous.
Vidal has missed before, I believe it was against Parma in 2012, so its obviously been a while, and like i said he's normally reliable, but sometimes i think its good to let the most confident player take a penalty not just have a designated taker.

Vidal has been out of sorts all season and last night, penalty aside, he was pretty damn poor.

Lets see how Count Max lines up for the weekend, but i'd like to see Pereyra in the midfield and not at a wingback position.

If somebody told me PadoWin would be out performing Vidal in late 2014 i'd have probably set them on fire in a moment of sheer anger and confusion. But, well here we are.

Padowin should be starting ffs

One thing to be wary of - those Olympiakos goals were not THAT fortuitous. If we continue like this on set pieces then we might not get anything against Atletico.

Agreed. If we're going to play anyone in the hole, it should be Pereyra.

Atleti are the set piece masters and you can bet your ass D.S who already would be drilling his players about set pieces has seen this game and made damn sure every player on the team knows how to attack us from these situations. Expect a couple of near misses from crosses at the very least. No way we keep a clean sheet in this one unless we score early and rattle them.

He missed a penalty at 0:0 against Parma in round 1 of season 2012/13 (we won the match 2:0), and he missed against Cagliari in the same season, round 18. He missed at 1:0 for Cagliari, but we won the match 3:1.

My stats threads came handy for this information: http://forum.juventuz.org/threads/36119-Juventus-2012-2013-stats :D
Thanks .I don't doubt the information I was just thinking that this was his first missed penalty.Obviously I was wrong. My mistake.

Right.

I don't, in general, but in this particular case it didn't help you find out when did Vidal miss the other two penalties :p
I noticed that too.

And that is concerning since Bonucci is a weak link in marking and Chiellini thinks he can win fouls instead of marking. Honestly, if they don't improve in the next matches, they should be dropped... even for Ogbonna.

If Barzagli is still a long ways off, then another CB will be needed for sure this January.

Vidal was not bad last night. Aside from the penalty miss and the wasted one on one I thought he was very good. Ran his ass off and won the ball back numerous times. I loved the way we were able to press with him in a more advanced position. That was part of the reason that Pirlo's defensive shortcomings didn't come to the fore.
