I just want to add two more points. 1 juves defense is woeful this season, they are great when fully focused but our back four suffer from brain farts that end up with us conceding as evident by the first and even the second goal. 2 if juve are to complete internationally and domestically our bench needs a lot of quality, you can't just depend on a good starting 11. Did you notice how bale got subbed out and was replaced with an equally dangerous player in Di maria? Italian teams in general don't have this edge in quality. Finally it's not over yet for us but the team needs to step up to the occasion and challenge if we are too salvage any thing from this years competition.
It's not just the defense though.

Don't know if it has been mentioned before, but something was way off in our tactics. I lost count of the amount of times Real put us in a 1vs1 situation at the back, with one of our fullbacks remaining too high up the pitch & the entire midfield being awol as well. And all this happened regardless of the score at the time.
Were we not aware of the threat Real poses? Hell, there were times were both Caceres & Asamoah were positioned completely wrong at the same time.

That being said, the game could have gone either way. Casillas kept them in it, a bit of luck at the right times kept us in it. And, of course, we still have a decent enough chance of qualifying. Thanks to the group, not so much to ourselves.

To equalise after going down wasn't easy either.
Didn't expect that anymore either. Looked like we were very close to breaking down completely. But we didn't, so at least that's a positive.

I think people need to stop overcrediting Casillas. He was great but there were atleast 2-3 great opportunities and some of our players shot straight at the keeper.See,these are things we need to work on if we need to become a world beater team.
I think the vast difference of the quality in attack was noticeable as well.Thats what world class players do.They take their chances ,they're more clinical and we sadly werent.

The reaction to Pepe's near own goal was sublime, and to stick his leg out to block the Marchisio header at that angle also deserves massive credit. Didn't he pull off a good save before Marchisio's shot was cleared off the line? He had a superb day for shot stopping in that sense, kept the game tight when Juventus could have been off in the distance.

 You are the one who constantly said that Real will $#@! us in the two legs but what really happened is we were better than Real Madrid in two halves. We $#@!d them. If not for individual errors and poor finishing we would have overcome their 300M attack.
Please go with these poverty excuses.

Bottom line is they have 4 pts from 2 games against us.

How many teams in recent times got to the final after finishing second in the group?
Bayern and Inter finished 2nd in their group in the 09-10 season and both went on to contest the final.Thats the only two teams i can recall in the last 4-5 CL seasons.

He still made at least two great goal saving saves, whichever way you dress it up. And they came during our dominant spell.

Yeah , but there were instances where we 'should've' scored and it wasnt down to the goalkeeper's heroics.

The first instance that came to my mind was that Marchisio IN THE BOX, shot straight at the keeper after pepe made a goalline clearance.

Marchisio didn't touch it after the Pepe clearance. You might be referring to the one in the first half, where he couldn't really do anything apart from toe poke it.

I've watched the game only once(excuse me if i'm wrong) but we had a scoring opportunity after a goalline clearance from Pepe and if i remember correctly it was Marchisio with that opportunity at that instance.

I think Marchisio had one good headed chance that was brilliantly saved. But if i recall there were two more after that and one of them i thought was due to tame finishing.

In the 2nd where we were playing from left to right.

In the 2nd where we were playing from left to right.
Llorente or a defender deflected the ball, Casillas saved it, it bounced out to Marchisio, who hit a volley, and Pepe cleared it off the line

I'd be surprised if we managed to advance from the Knockout Stages if we were to pass from the Group Stages in the first place, especially if we won't get another easy opponent like Celtic. There are just so many teams better equipped than us for this Cup.
like who?

football was way more competitive back then, the teams in our group were a lot stronger than their current versions.

Bayern, Barca, and Real I totally agree.

Chelsea, City, Dortmund, and PSG are around the same level we are at. I don't consider them to be superior, and while I'd rather avoid them, I still think we can definitely beat them over two legs.

Arsenal and United (joke of a defense and an extremely average midfield) are inferior to us. Arsenal have been playing good football, but they haven't really been rested domestically, and are somewhat lacking in depth, shaky in defense, and their midfield is quite light. United are one RVP injury away from collapsing; they don't have the Sir Alex Ferguson factor anymore, and I'd really fancy our chances against them.

Thank you. :)

But "With Gareth Bale starting" as an opening headline? Shit, is everything Bale pinches out of his ass worthy of the top headline in England for the locals to masturbate over?

They even jerk off to his being subbed as part of the match "highlights". :sergio:
well after beckham he's the new Shooting Star, and they will jerk off whatever he does, so you better get used with it
