I saw the match yesterday in Riazor and I came to think Juve's problem is many players are getting old. During last seasons their (whole team) defence used to be a pain for our team, but yesterday our midlield blow up Juve's. Depor has a similar problem because Mauro Silva is 36, Naybet 34, Molina and Fran 33 and Romero 32, but we started to buy younger players two years ago (Andrade, Luque, Sergio, Duscher) to be ready for the change. I guess Juventus managers will make a lot of buys next summer as well in order to put "new blood" in the team.
About the game, Depor dominated but, as usual, they missed a lot of chances to score, so I'm happy with the 1-0. The 2nd leg is going to be a thriller.

Before the game Gilliam Balague who works for sky sports did a little report on Depor and said they were known for withcraft and all that hoodoo stuff , normally I do not believe in such nonsense but I could not believe my eyes last night
Players like Dp playing a ball hopelessly wide in fairness the ball came quickly to him
Nedved European player of the year cannot control simple balls and the defence decided they were all Franz Beckenbauer always trying to play themselves outta trouble and always getting caught on the ball

Buffon just too good for the gabbage in front of him 7

Thuram why on earth , when not under any pressure, did he decide to try and dribble with the ball and gave a silly pass to Appiah who got caught in position, they crossed and instead of Thuram to redeem himself, he headed the ball nicely for Luque to volley home , apart from that he was okay 5.5

Leggrotaglie started off awfully but ended up our best defender 6

Montero did alright but he is a liability and should have been sold a long time ago 5.5

Pessotto did what his ability took him to 5.5

Tacchinardi played very well I thought in the first half and gave a beat of a pass to Miccolli which he fluffed then pretended he was injured, but then Tacchinardi started been caught in possesion and we were just hopeless in midfield 5.5

Appiah another who had a good first half then he reverted back to type in the second half, looking for passes that were not there , shooting like he scores every week but he worked his socks off 6

Zambrotta was awful in the first half on the right wing got slight better in the second 5

Nedved was just hopeless , no excuses but only to say this is what he normally does in Cl for us anyways 4.5

Dp marginally better than Nedved, got caught in possesion , should really have gone round Molina for his first chance imo but he did some nice things 5

Trez was alright till the 15th minute then he just disappeared but we need him this season 5.5

Miccoli did sweet F.A 5

Conte tried his best in the midfield when he came on and went very close with his first touch witha header 5.5

I said before a while ago. you cannot keep on rotating just for the heck of it and whilst ppl like Slack and hardcore agreed with me some who always want to act that everything Lippi does is gold were arguing blindly
Now you can see the results
The defence do not know eachother because they keep on being changed all the time, the midfield likewise and well the attack, what atack, now

The most consistent teams this season, the Arsenals, Romas, Milans and real Madrid, Valencia are doing very well because their managers by and large use the same players, it may catch up with them in the end but as for now its doing alright but the likes of us Chelsea and some others who just change for the heck of it are having very disappointing seasons
Its not the loss or whatever its the manner of play

Chelsea won yesterday without a single shot on target from any of their players, incredible that aint it

But our rotation is more or less based on all the injuries, that stop by quite often this season (and no that's not an excuse why we play bad) rather than Lippi messing around, or not?

i won't comment much...
just a small comment on most of the players...
ok..a loss but not huge.we can make it in delle alpi.

buffon:eek:ne great match i think...saved everything.the goal wasn't his fault.
legro:saved our ass soooooooooo many times.one of his best matches i think.
tacchinardi:in one moment...i lost the count of the mistakes he made.
miccoli:tried so hard....but lost a huuuge chance.
alex:lost 2 big chances. not the alex we all know.
nedved:barerly there....a very poor performance-compairing to his good ones.
appiah:i am blaming him a little for our goal...but in general....i wasn't very sutisfied.
trezeguat:tried.ok....but fvcked up his arm....unfortunatelly.
and also,i think the only change that was worth....
zambro:good job.
lippi: put in great place legro,in wrong place nedved and made 2 pretty pointless changes. the 2 last ones

I knew we were gonna loose this match before it even started, I think the best we can hope for at home is 3-1 cause we ain't gonna win 2-0!! no way!!our defence is too weak!!especially Montero!!

I think we will go out, we needed an away goal in the Riazor!!

I think one word describe juve performance which is pathetic
there is no defence , no midfield and no offence , i dont know how we reached this level , all our passes from the defence or midfeild was intercepted , all wrong passes from turam , montero , appia , tachi , we
dont have any one in the back to count on him any more , we dont have any one in midfield to create chances at all , dp ,trez and nedved were abscent from the match. only 3 chances which we could scored from :
dp alone with the keeper to beat and he dont know how to do it
miccoli also wasted a chance but he was from the angle.
legro from a header his shot came near the post ,other than this , all
othe game in our half and no one in midfield to stop the attack ,if any one noticed in seconds the deport. players run from midfeild to our penlty area
with no one to stop them.
finally i said it from a long time with a defence like this and a midfeild who
cant defend or create chances and with the absecce of trez and dp (nedved is history it seems he came to the end to his career) juve will not
dream of having the CL (it is easear to go know than to loose in the final).

i think the first goals from luque is not thuram mistakes...at least he try to clear the ball...but i'm still wondering why legro didn't move and not continue to clear the ball when the ball still on the air before luque fire it...even it happen very fast, legro able to block that shot because the distance between legro n luque i think it just only 3 meters and ...... thats why lippi ask our players to always FOCUS......

anyway, i have big feeling that we can go through...generally i'm quit happy with our players performance...energetic and entertain...may be we need to be more precise and accurate in scoring the goal for 2nd leg.......
r u shure u watched the same game , thuram made a big mistake
it was not lgro fault , as for that you r happy for out perfromance
i dont know from where we were energetic and entertain:confused:

this season so far, i've seen like 3-4 times trez in one-on-one situation with the keeper......and he scored ALL of 'em (2 against sociedad, the others i cant quite remember rite now). sure, be happy that our top scorer is injured when we dont have a decent replacement for him

Without Trez and Maresca, we are in deep shit.
The only way we will beat Depor is likely 3-1, and
for that to happen, Di Vaio is going to have to get hot
fast.....and this man has just lost his touch completely of late.
Time to start praying for a brace from him and a goal
from Nedved or DP.

Buffon - had no chance with Luque's goal, so no blame there, and performed some good saves. 6.5

Thuram - wasn't too bad at all, but it was his error that gifted Depor their goal. To be fair Scaloni's cross was very good but he should've done better. 5.5

Legrottaglie - our best defender. Legro made some crucial tackles and interceptions last night. Well done. 6.5

Montero - was ok but he's just too slow. We need some new defenders badly. 5.5

Pessotto - ok, but doesn't contribute to attacks enough. I prefer Birindelli. 5.5

Zambrotta - all of our midfielders sucked imo. Was slightly better in the second half, but still not near as good as the early season Zambro. 5

Tacchinardi - too many giveaways. Nice pass to Miccoli, but that was about it. Our midfielders just couldn't keep possession of the ball last night. 5

Appiah - crap. Too many giveaways. His work ethic is great but that just isn't enough. 4.5

Nedved - people call Del Piero a choker, and yeah, he does choke sometimes, but Neddy was the biggest choker of all against Depor. 4.5

Del Piero - did some nice things but should've done better with his two chances. Had a good long range effort and started the move which led to Miccoli's chance. He wasn't amazing, that's for sure, but compared to Nedved he was very good. 5.5

Trezeguet - was pretty good. Pity he got injured. 6

Miccoli - ok, but showed alot of inexperience in missing that chance. 5.5

hoi

first of all i was really angry after i have seen this result! I thought that we are going to win this match or at least a tie, ok but shit happens!

i didn't see the match the only thing i now is that we played really bad!!

I don't know why that is so, i read that we maid a lot of stupid passes and errors i think that is not really based on the age or something other, i think that it must be something pysological or the guys are nervous and unsecure but i don't know why??

ok, but lets see it so depor have won all their home games and that with conceding no goals, i think that they are really strong at home, but we too!

we won all our home games (CL) and i think that we have a chance to qualify for the next round!

ok Trezeguet and Maresca are out of the Clash, but i think that we have Micco and Di Vaio and they will get a chance and it is on them if they take the chance!

i think Lippi has to start to field the same team for some matches i think we don't get a real "Stam" of the players, i think that we should field our first team for the next games and not do always some little chances on the defense or middelfield that is a mistake from lippi (in my opinion)

i think every player feels bader when he plays a roll for a while or has the same partner on his side and rely on him!

i think we should Thuram and Legro in the CB and Biri and Zamb as L and RB!

I don't know why but even Depor was better we only lost 1:0 and eveything is possible and also everyone from juve is very optimistic and i think that we don't play all our carts!!!

i think juve is a team that needs pressure and maybe a kick in the ass to wake up! but why so often????

does anyone know who long Maresca is out?? (we could really need this guy)

and Trezeguet?? (why does he get injured evey 3 weeks?)

Maresca is out for at least 40 days i think.
This is really shit, we always loose players this time of the year.
We need maresca back quick, i think he was are most in form player.

Whenever Lippi but birindelli in thurams place i thought i defence was pretty solid and a lot more satisfying, he should use that back line more often now because it definatly worked.
