I'm numb to diving and playacting, its so common in football and has been for quite a while, especially in high stake games, players try ANYTHING (and dontfool yourselves into thinking its limited to certain teams, more of football cultures). For example, I hardly ever see Pedro dive, but tonight he's in the box and Marcelo gets a clean tackle, and he throws himself theatrically, then later covers his face when he was bodycheck fouled etc. Trying anything possible to get ahead/mind games with refs etc.
I wont bother mentionning Alves (didnt dive, but exaggerated the severity of the tackle, which is most common thing of all for players), Dive Maria and most heinously of all, Biscuits (such a weasel, can imagine he gave Pedro tips). All 3 notorious weasels. IMO the ref handled them well enough (except Di Maria got a freekick once), because mostly they exaggerated fouls, not invent them. Its harder to give yellow in such scenario, and such a violatile game, giving yellows for playacting will fuel it more (though Uefa IMO should deal with em...).
Regarding the game, CL games get INSANELY tedious the closer they get to the final, its nothing new (most hated was Pool-Chelski...), but Real seriously had no intention of going for goal (29% possession and not doing anything but 1 Ronaldo shot is not lack of quality, but will, mainly 2nd half, first they pressured high, but 2nd barely at all), and Barca were attempting to play it out as an ok away tie, and wait for mistakes insanely boringly patient. And it took one mistake, not the 2nd goal(brilliant shit, kinda moments is why we watch big games, sadly only one) but the first one. I know we like to mock Marcelo, but he has improved his defending with Mourinho, and the split second mistake on the first goal is he gave Affellay momentum to pass him by losing his balance very briefly (then stood up and chased), and Affellay bit on that like cheetah (great assist). In general Marcelo, most of this season, handled his defensive duty decently. But its typical such a brief error decides the tie (Messi's brilliant 2nd closed the tie, but hard to see it happening without 1st goal).

He also elbowed someone when he was down, but it too went unnoticed by the refs.
The man simply has to be perfect and not a single black mark should stand in his resume. Now if he only comes out and starts talking like Kaka about God and shit, he'll be the epitome of perfection.
The guy is a great player and that should be enough. Protect him from tackles too if you want. But why are they so unfair to ignore the bad things he does? It won't ruin his reputation if you card him when he deserves a card.

Real's plan was simple. They didn't intend to take initiative and they were waiting for counters.
The problem was that Barca wasn't interesting in scoring either and at one point we watched endless passing between Pique, Mascherano, Keita, Busquets...and back to Mascherano.

They stopped pressing high too early in the game. Regardless of it being their home, if you want to do something in football, you should pressure and take it from your opponents. With how Real were clearing the ball after instantly getting it, they were clearly not intending even to counter. Except for a period of like 7-10 mins, they had no interest to do anything but give back the ball to Barca. It was a real weak effort by Mourinho IMO, even if this game could have ended 0-0, would still say the same. Plus their freekicks was disastrously wasteful, only chances they have to go forward, and Ronaldo and Alonso completely botches them.
Yeah, completely right. As I said though I thought Jose's tactics were good in the first half with keeping a higher midfield line and pressuring up the pitch. That's what I like to see. Diarra was particularly good, hounding Barca whenever they crossed the 50. In the second half they lost the plot though, and didn't pressure as high. But indeed, since Barca sat back as well, I was expecting 0-0.
They needed to find a way to get Ronaldo the ball more, though. That's how they screwed up. Ronaldo was isolated and unfortunately you're not going to get anywhere by not having him in the game.
