Just saw the replay, it was a rough tackle but I don't think it was intentional on Pepe's part.

I could see a harsh red card being given for that but with what the Barca players were getting away with tonight it was unfair call IMO.

You want to start another fight? Marotta >> You

:D
Lets do this

Not any fights, boring and repetitive fights.
Just how I like 'em

thats all we have left :D juve is already in summer break
Yeeaaaaaaa jajaja

It'd be nice if these sort of "confrontations" took place in person if only to see just who had the balls to act as reckless as they do online.
Those would be expensive encounters

like i said, roma and especially man u are not liked around here, so you should act with extreme tact while posting in a juve forum about said teams, and i didnt need to look at your profile to know you liked man u.
Actually Man United and Roma fans don't deserve any respect around here. If they want to have it and not be lambasted, they have to earn it, so you're right here.

They even zoomed it here. He was going at the ball and looking at nothing else but the ball. He probably didn't even see Alves' leg. But his idiocy/clumsiness/ slowness in that action resulted with completely missing the ball.
There was absolutely no malicious intention there to hurt Alves. And Pepe's foot wasn't even that high.
If the red was given for clumsiness, maybe, just maybe, the ref can have a case.
He has no case though for everything else that happened and went unpunished. And everything went in Barca's favor.
To me it looked like he went for the ankle because there was simply no way he could have reached the ball as the pass was played pretty fast even before he attempted the kick. The intention was much worse than kicking the ball.

If I was the ref I would have given him red card without thinking twice.
imo the ref is covered by the rulebook because of this. But as the game went he choosed poor in disturbing the balance. he ruined the game and the 2nd leg

He should gave broke his ankle in five pieces.
Same thoughts here!

And to those who always talk about the ball possession where that brought Barca in the first half, or how that can win the game? Last year against Inter they also had all the possession and still they've lost, so please stop talking about fucking POSSESSION!!!

Silly, argument based on your blind bias.

Both teams play-acted, cheated, and hounded the ref. This is all based on the red card, which is debatable, but if that tackle had been made against a Juve player I'd expect a straight red card. Of course possession matters in games, and if you are denying that, you are lying.
inter barca game..80% possession for barca, inter goes through

Yes, its both the same thing and I was gonna mention that but it never mattered, as I said even if Pepe wasn't sent off, Adebayor deserved it anyway, so ultimately the only difference is that it was a different player, the outcome of Real being down to 10men was the same.
So? :D
They also ended the game with 10 men in the cup final, who cares?

I'm talking about a decision which changed the game totally. Who cares if Adebayor was sent off at the +85th minute of the game?

I'm not going to act "tactiful" in the fact of someone who acts classless.

You think you have the right to insult people because this is a fan-forum of your team and expect nothing in return? No, it doesn't.

The Pepe tackle was a red. I've referees only issue a yellow for it before, but most of the time those sort of challenges see red. Barca has seen a fair amount of refereeing help in the various competitions they play, but in this case alone, the correct call was made.
It was reddish because the studs were high, but he went for the ball (that was his aim, even if he was very late), so I get why its viewed as slightly harsh, mainly because referees let shit like that slide too often (how career ending injuries happen) and we gotten used to it, makes bit more orange then red because of it (mainly EPL refs). Its justiable to call it red because it was recklessly high and studs (see below pic), but I could have understood it if it was given yellow in another scenario (despite Pepe deserving punishment for his reckless stupidity), but in general high stud tackles like that shouldnt be allowed to fly (couple inches lower and Alves knee would been goner).

But what made the sitaution more tense, and REALLY did IMO is how the Barca players hovered instantly around the ref, especially that fuck Valdes as usual. Riled up the fans alot. They did it in every scenario, pretty retarded. Doing everything possible to get an edge. But all in all, think the ref was good, it was only two things I think he called wrong, and it was giving Di Maria a freekick (and alves yellow? dont recall) after a complete dive early on the game (started the diving show that was this game), though linesman called it more then the ref. And 2nd is Messi body check on Arbeloa (though not as brutal as Adebayors, enough to be yellow). In general ref had decisions on lock and was pretty apt. Including the red, because it was defenitely an arguable red card, even if a more lenient ref could given yellow.

Its the argument against the "omg the ref is on barca's side, Madrid always end on 10men" ala Mourinho and the conspiracy theorists.

And obviously it changed the game, Messi wouldn't of scored those goals if Pepe was still on the pitch, either way it was a very poor challenge by Pepe which always had a chance of seeing him sent off.

In the end, Madrid shot themselves in the foot and never deserved anything from the game anyway (if you take away all the theatrical crap from both teams) Barcelona were 3x better than Madrid, the stats say it all.
