UPDATE 1-Vieira says Highbury return was his destiny

ROME, March 10 (Reuters) - Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira says he will be thinking only about winning when he returns to his old club with Juventus in the Champions League.

Friday's quarter-final draw paired the Serie A leaders with Arsenal, taking the 29-year-old Frenchman back to Highbury for the first time since he left for Turin last year.

"At times destiny serves up some surprises," Vieira told Juve's website. "Obviously for me it will be a special match, seeing that I'll be returning to Highbury as part of the opposing team.

"But beyond that I'll be thinking only of winning," said Vieira, who joined Arsenal from AC Milan in 1996.

The World Cup winner picked up three Premier League titles and four FA Cups while at Arsenal. The Highbury first leg takes place on March 28 with the return game on April 5.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said he was looking forward to welcoming back his former skipper.

"We will have another opportunity like we had against Real Madrid (in the previous round) to show our quality and I'm sure our team will be 100 percent up for it," Wenger told Sky Sports News.

"On the other hand we welcome Patrick back, he plays on his favourite ground. Certainly we always welcome players back when they have done as well for us as Patrick but we'll make sure we do not make it easy for him.

"I think he will be happy to come back to Highbury."

Wenger rates Juventus the second favourites to win the competition.

"You don't play against one player, you play against a team, so Juventus are maybe the hottest favourites after Barcelona," he said.

"We will certainly not be favourites (for this game)."
Respect to Viera(I still think he will put his match of the seson in London),Respect to Wenger(Sorry man we r first favourites)

Arsenal will come out of the gate just like Liverpool did last season and cause us several problems with their quickness and incisive passing going forward. Everybody knows, including Wenger, that the way to beat this Juventus side is to force them into making errors at the back and don't give any of our players space at all. The battle for the midfield will be crucial in this tie as usual because if we let Arsenal establish a rhythm they will have a free for all on our side of the pitch. And seeing that we rarely establish a rhythm of our own with these lethargic Capello tactics, we will simply struggle to cope with their attacks on the wings and centrally in front of our defense. However, we are somewhat saved by the fact that Arsenal are not very powerful in the air from set pieces, something our side continues to struggle to defend against.

Henry will obviously be the biggest threat, especially at the Delle Alpi where he will have more space to perform. We must be wary of Hleb running through the center of the pitch because if he gets behind Vieira and has space in front of him he's very good at playing through balls to the always-available Henry. Same applies for Ljungberg who will cause us problems on the flank with his darting runs. The Arsenal duo of Gilberto and Fabregas is decent, however you can easily pressure the latter into making errors and just run him over and out of the match. I don't think Emerson will have much of a problem here if he's on form, however we simply cannot give Arsenal space to play in midfield. We should be able to work some openings on the flanks with the two inexperianced Arsenal fullbacks on flanks.

But yet again we are drawn against an English side and we know all too well how we fair against them and how Capello continues to screw up against them. These antiquated, slow and lethargic tactics will not work against the English sides who will run us over with quick passing and workrate. Arsenal is not a Liverpool, however they do have the capablilty to play the same way and essentially cause us more problems at the back. People have stated that he 4-5-1 works well against Arsenal and I wholeheartedly agree, however Capello will undoubtedly use the straight and lethargic 4-4-2 and I think Arsenal loves to feed off such tactics. Forget only needing an away goal...we need a miracle with the way we have played thus far.

I personally dont think Henry is unstoppable. He enjoys playing space - I've seen most Premiership games like the last 3 Man Utd ones and the 2 Chelsea ones this season - where good defending have kept him anonymous all game long. I think Canna fits the profile of handling him but what I dont know is the effect of the yellow he's carrying especially against very pacey players - (Thuram also and especially) will have on their play

The player who worries me the most is Alexander Hleb. That guy is brilliant IMO.
