No, it is not what it is. You dislike him so that's why you say this.

Lets take a look at the numbers first:

Last year Iaquinta played 2340 minutes, scored 15 goals and made 5 assists. Amauri played 3009 minutes (669 minutes more than Iaquinta. Almost 8 full matches), scored 14 goals and made 4 assists.

This year Iaquinta played 710 minutes (4 goals, 2 assists) while Amauri played 896 minutes (4 goals, 1 assist).

During the time Amauri is here:
Amauri --3905 minutes- 18 goals, 5 assists
Iaquinta-- 3050 minutes - 19 goals, 7 assists

Amauri offers some things that Iaquinta doesn't and vice-versa too. Iaquinta hustles, fights too and he has better positioning, he knows how to run into space, how to open up. He's missing chances but he also knows how to find himself into these chances. If you take a look at the numbers above and you say that Iaquinta is missing chances, then the conclusion is that either Amauri is missing even more chances, or if that isn't true, then the conclusion is that Amauri is not finding himself in such chances. And it's true.
Look at Inzaghi. Another master of missing chances. But he still scores a lot, just like Iaquinta.

Iaquinta is also scoring a lot against the top teams. In these little more than 2 years he's in Juve, he scored goals against Inter, Milan, Roma, Chelsea, Bordeaux. In this aspect he's not inferior to the other strikers.
In CL Iaquinta scored 4 of the 11 goals Juve scored after Calciopoli. Amauri scored 1, Trez is yet to score.

Del Piero aside, Iaquinta is not inferior, overall, to the other strikers. All offer something different.
That's why he isn't a 4th choice. The choice of the striker(s) who should play should be made depending on the current form and the teams we play against. That's why on some of the matches Iaquinta will be our 1st choice striker, on some 2nd choice, 3rd choice, and yes, on some he'll be the 4th choice.
You know what they say. There are 3 types of lies. Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Those numbers are great and all but you have to take into account who was paired with who. If Iaquinta isn't playing with Del Piero then the other striker he's paired with is rendered largely ineffective. I get frustrated just watching him play with Amauri or Trez so I can imagine how they would feel. The two latter would be better off playing by themselves up top. When we play Iaquinta with a striker other then DP it's football terrorism.

He does score some decent goals I wouldn't expect him too, but then again he'll miss the 3 sitters before that. Inconsistent even when he's on form. Super-sub... I suppose. Although, he isn't much of an impact player. Trezeguet on the other hand... that's an impact player.

got Mazzari'ed...wouldn't blame him too much though, he has literally zero options with all the injuries, and could not possibly anticipate such a shambolic performance from our CBs

Why can't we be like other top teams? Why are we so inconsistent and why do we always have to lose points like this? It's like Inter are the old Juventus and we are the old Inter.

1- Why the hell did he keep Tiago and take off Poulsen when PouPou was on fire today while Tiago was too fucking slow offensively and too shaky defensively!
2- That Gio-DC sub should make him a candidate for the dumbest coach ever.
3-Why did he bring in Amauri in the first place!!!

he can't do something good until we get rid of the clowns and bring some decent players.

Grygera, Zebina, Poulsen, Tiago, PDC are not the type of players who can celebrate a scudetto.

Grygera wasn't even the worse today and we shouldn't be defending so poorly with a backline of Chiellini, Grosso and Cannavaro. That's probably the 2nd best defence in Serie A on paper yet it was a performance befitting of a relegation team.

Ah, Ciro. I'd say he's still learning, and nothing really beats on-the-job training. I reckon the Scudetto is pretty much out of reach at this point and the team isn't going to slip too badly, so there's no point in firing him mid-season. That being said, he's got to tighten up this team quickly. I'd like to see some good European performances.

Generally speaking, talking about the whole season rather than today's show.

It's like they fuck up in turns. Every week there is someone to blame. We need a better squad to be honest. and YES, I didn't say it at the beginning of the season when the transfer market was closed. Simply, because I was deceived with all the big cash signings of Diego and Melo.

A better bench must be constructed in January, otherwise, I'm afraid we gotta wait til next season.

We could do with a better squad. But with what we have we should be doing better. Not just today, every week we allow way too many chances.

I like Ferrara and hope he can change things, but let's not make excuses for him.
