I seriously doubt Iaquinta will get 15 goals this year. Once Ale is back, with Amauri and Trez able to find the net he will be back to his 4th striker role.

Just where he belongs.
He is way too good to be a 4th striker. Although he is the ultimate teammate and seems truly happy just to be on Juve, to say he is a 4th striker and that is where he belongs is a bit harsh.

There are 15 other teams in Serie A where he could be a starter. He isn't your "Zalayeta" type of player where a 4th striker role suits him perfectly. he is much better than that.

If any striker is sold, be it in January or in the summer, he will probably be the one.

He misses far too many chances though. Iaquinta is not up to the level of DP, Trezeguet or Amauri IMO, so he HAS to take the 4th striker spot. It is what it is.

But that doesn't mean that he is only a "4th quality striker"

I mean come on. Seriously. Just because he is now the 4th striker here doesn't mean that it is a perfect description of his qualities.

Do you honestly think that he is only "4th Striker Material"???

Why are you discussing this? I havent heard Iaquinta complaining.
There will be changes next summer in attack, seems obvious. It would be foolish to let Iaquinta go in the winter transfer break though, long season, and with our luck with injures Iaquinta could be a regular come February 2010.

And I just looked at his numbers on ESPN. He 27 goals in 132 shots, for a 20.5% rate. And he has scored those 27 goals in 68 games to go with 9 assists.

Yeah, he's not the most fluid out there, but they guy has been productive, and has always been there when they needed him. There are a lot of teams out there who would kill to ahve a "4th Striker" like that

He's not bad but I just don't think his playing style fits well with our current squad so he should be 4th choice just because of that and the other guys we have in front of him. I agree that he could be starting in most other teams though. He isn't a bad player especially for a backup but he can't play with another of our front men unless it's DP. He can be a useful little player at times but we just have better options.

Look, I'm not saying VinnieYak is our best/most talented striker, but the bloke has put a few goals away for us and has helped us out in many sticky situations in past games. He certainly deserves a place in our squad. Seems like he actually loves being at Juventus, and is happy to be at the teams disposal for however many amount of minutes.

To put him with a list which includes Molinaro and Almiron etc is just fucking retarded.

fuck the haters, Vinnie is class...sure he can miss some absolute sitters, but when push comes to shove, he will bury that fuckin' ball in the back of the net, that's for damn sure

No, it is not what it is. You dislike him so that's why you say this.

Lets take a look at the numbers first:

Last year Iaquinta played 2340 minutes, scored 15 goals and made 5 assists. Amauri played 3009 minutes (669 minutes more than Iaquinta. Almost 8 full matches), scored 14 goals and made 4 assists.

This year Iaquinta played 710 minutes (4 goals, 2 assists) while Amauri played 896 minutes (4 goals, 1 assist).

During the time Amauri is here:
Amauri --3905 minutes- 18 goals, 5 assists
Iaquinta-- 3050 minutes - 19 goals, 7 assists

Amauri offers some things that Iaquinta doesn't and vice-versa too. Iaquinta hustles, fights too and he has better positioning, he knows how to run into space, how to open up. He's missing chances but he also knows how to find himself into these chances. If you take a look at the numbers above and you say that Iaquinta is missing chances, then the conclusion is that either Amauri is missing even more chances, or if that isn't true, then the conclusion is that Amauri is not finding himself in such chances. And it's true.
Look at Inzaghi. Another master of missing chances. But he still scores a lot, just like Iaquinta.

Iaquinta is also scoring a lot against the top teams. In these little more than 2 years he's in Juve, he scored goals against Inter, Milan, Roma, Chelsea, Bordeaux. In this aspect he's not inferior to the other strikers.
In CL Iaquinta scored 4 of the 11 goals Juve scored after Calciopoli. Amauri scored 1, Trez is yet to score.

Del Piero aside, Iaquinta is not inferior, overall, to the other strikers. All offer something different.
That's why he isn't a 4th choice. The choice of the striker(s) who should play should be made depending on the current form and the teams we play against. That's why on some of the matches Iaquinta will be our 1st choice striker, on some 2nd choice, 3rd choice, and yes, on some he'll be the 4th choice.
