Even though the 4-2-3-1 is the way to go, it's pretty obvious the return of Il Capitano will see Ciro switch back to the 4-3-1-2 or the 4-3-2-1; Although I dont think we'd mind it then, because Diego's creative burden will be shared with the man himself. I'd like to see Diego play behind Del Piero and Trezeguet, more than any other combination in that set-up. Might just be as much fun as we saw last night.

However, Giovinco deserves an extended run in the side, and a chance to fulfill his potential. He may not bring the same aura, spirit, and skill set to the team as DP, but he is definitely more dynamic and swift.

I am not saying we should bench one or the other, but sharing playing time between them could be a good idea, so as to integrate Gio into the squad further. DP is not going to be around forever, and I would hate us to have to go back to square one once he is not an option anymore.

Alex can play alongside Diego and Gio in the Camo role...

One thing I've noticed is that Sissoko and Melo's performences become so much better when they can focus on the defensive part and not try to become creative as they need to be in the 4-3-1-2.
Indeed, and I hope Ciro knows that by now. That's why I think a straight 3- man midfield will not work with both Melo & Sissoko on the pitch.

I hope Ciro doesn't go back to the 4-3-1-2 just to make Del Piero happy. There is more players out there we should accommodate than Del Piero. As I said before, Sissoko and Melo play so much better together than in a 3 man midfield. Diego play so much better with Camo and Giovinco next to him, Amauri was made for the 4-2-3-1 and it's obvious how retarded it is to play without wingers.

Del Piero's role in this formation is Diego's sub.

I don't think his supernatural determination will approve of this. He will be a starter one way or another.

I'm not a fan, but neither Poulsen or Tiago should be on that list.

But yeah Yaki is shocking to have there, he has scored like 17 goals in 23 games since the beginning of this year til now.

Iaquinta is overrated by our fans. He is not a starting up material for a team that relies on technique, skills, smooth passing...etc. He is a super sub ...a role limit is needed here.

Of course this season, he may score 10-15 goals and go for the WC..bla bla, but football was never about who runs faster.

We were that team for one game this season...

And scoring 10-15 goals and helping the team win trophies isn't what football is about?
