so if I'm playing Lecce, would I look to focus on my strengths or their weaknesses?!

and if you're still wondering if whether we are or are not of a higher calibre than Bordeaux, then you need to take a closer look, buddy...we couldn't deliver the performance that was to be expected, that is a completely separate issue
Oh my....

You should be a football coach.

You focus on using your strengths to expose their weaknesses -

You'd really make a great coach, I support Ahmed for the next Juve coach

pacey football does not consist of pacey players !
you can have super fast football game, with slow players, they just need to run enough, so everyone has passing options. if you play with a maximal of two ball contacts until you pass you can have a pacey system, but that affords the players to have something called passive play.

a wise men said "the ball is faster than any player" so move the ball fast not the players dragging the ball slowly
Agreed! You seems to have a lot of knowledge about football. However that type of fast football requires a high level of fitness level and a good understanding between the players, which are the two things that we seem not to have at this moment.

i have a very mad idea ...

what exactly did tell us we HAD to change the system ?

we were pretty solid last term with a 4-4-2. why not play diego as lw and melo as pure def-mid with sissoko ?

what do you think about that thought?
I think Diego was tried there when he was in Porto but he failed. Among the players we currently have, I think Giovinco is the most suitable for the AML. He was very effective when given open space (usually available in the flanks) and his crosses were very good. He was also better in occasionally drifting inside than staying in the middle due to his limited physical strength (can't hold up the ball, easily be bullied by strong DMs, etc). Admittedly even in the flanks he loses balls frequently due to his small size but I saw him traced back well in many occasions.

You got a point about the 4-4-2 though. Actually as i said before I believe that the 4-2-3-1 that you guys praised does work because it is a variation of the 4-4-2 where Diego plays in the hole behind the lone strikers and our two wingers (Gio and Camo) drift inside more often and have more creative roles. And of course the most important point is that it is not as flat as the traditional 4-4-2. That's why I prefered calling it the 4-4-1-1 instead of 4-2-3-1.

The reason for it to work is because we are used to play with the 4-4-2 and because we have the players (Camo, Gio, Momo and Melo) to do well in that formation. But now once we have Alex back, Ciro did not have any clue of how to fit Alex to that formation.

diego no doubt has defensive qualities and a good work ethic, so we would have the squad and system of last year but with higher quality players and this would make it easier for the new guys to settle in. it is always easier to settle into a new team, when the rest of the team is working.

we could still have changed the system in a year or two, when diego and melo did settle in...

what do you think about that thought?
Because Diego is not a natural left winger. We purchased him because he had been excelling as an attacking midfielder, drifting into a supporting role behind a striker, for werder bremen. You don't spend 25m on a player then immediately ask him to play in a new position. Its that simple.

There was an obvious weekness that Juve had: their lack of attacking option on the wings.
You know, you keep repeating this since the start of the season, to the point it became annoying.
But being annoying, doesn't make you wrong. On the contrary, you're spot on.

Apart from certain moments this season when Giovinco and Camo did fairly well on the wings, the lack of width and the lack of attacking option on the wing has been seriously hurting us.

From a great Nedved and Camo, to an old Nedved, weak Marchionni and regularly injured Camo, it ends with no wing play at all, and it's obviously hurting us, giving much less options to the strikers when we attack.

It's such a bummer how this has turned out. Won the last 3 games last year, had a good start this year. And then started to falter.
It was going to happen sooner or later. Apparently, some fans want results always without thinking that it takes time and you need time to adapt just like what happened with Guardiola at Barcelona and now Leonardo at Milan. It's annoying how everyone now is jumping against Ciro.

I'll take that as a back-handed compliment. Although, it wasn't brain surgery.

There's always January, but who if anybody?

Not really. He deserves criticism and it seems people are being gentler on him than they were on other coaches. Which please me.

and that wouldn't be so bad if we actually had some good fullbacks:evil:

Milos Krasic FTW!

If a Serbian wins over me, then he has to be special (like Dusan :D ). This guy is special.
If he comes to Juve ALL OF YOU will love him. I'm betting on that right now.

He's 25. If some smart ass wants to say that he should have already made a name for himself earlier if he was that good, i'll give you two names: Vidic and Arshavin.
The Russians pay their players extremely well and since these players are out of the radar of the normal viewers and the big European clubs (unless it's some WC or EURO), it's hard to sell them for huge money and teams rarely offer them much higher wages than what the Russians already pay.

Krasic has always been top quality. When he was leading his u-21 team to medals in the last 2-3 u-21 euros, when he played for Serbia, when he played for CSKA (won UEFA Cup too, but was only 20 and still not a regular). Now that he finally got his chance at the top CL level, where everyone could watch him, teams and fans finally noticed him and what he can do.

We'll never buy him. :(
He made it clear that he wants something "new". The Russian league ends this weekend iirc and teams will try to get him in January, even though his contract expires in 2 years. EPL clubs are strong favs to get him though.

Edit: Off topic :wallbang:
I thought it's the Wish List thread.

Hey Rab, it's obvious that we need some reinforcements. Don't tell us that you'll reject an RB for example in january. Sissoko transfer prove that we can have good buys in january.
