I agree with ZAF. it's a shame to put such an awesome engine, plus the whole bmw driving experience, in such an unclassy car. btw, I've never really been sure about this-is the 4 series the convertible version of the 3, and the 6 the convertible version of the 5 series? I'm not so sure about the styling of the 645i....from some angles I like it, and from others, I'm not so sure

BMW does not make a V-6 engine. V-8 is as far as it goes. They use the I-6's because they are efficient, provide more torque, and they take up less engine compartment space. The 3.2L I-6 engine in the M3 was so big they still had to slant it back 15° and add a second sump pump.

I want to know why more people don't use the W-8 or W12, hell, why not a W-16?

doesn't the new flying spur have a w-16? and the vw phaeton has a w-12..

Yea, I mean BMW, VW has the W-8 and W-12 in a couple of cars.

I agree about the styling around the new cars. I like the older boxier types the ones with the enclosed headlights, like 96-02.

1 series is the economy version.
6 series is just a cheaper 7

All of the series have a convertible, like the 330Ci

C is for convertible (see above)
X is for all wheel drive (X5)
Z is sportster (Z8)
L is for longer (old 745Li)
M is for Mötorsport (M3)

First number is the series. (328i)
Last two are the size of the engine. (735i [3.5L engine displacement])

thanks so much for the info! most of it I knew, but the info on the the number is very nice to know! I've been wondering about it for a while. I don;t know why I thought I read that the 4 was just the convertible and coup version of the 3 series

Yes they do, and what brakes down depends on many things. Check out the BMW forums, they are very useful.
    any link elnur?

i still believe its overexaggeration, when they say that bmws stay in a garage

    Not always, e.g. BMW 740 is not 4.0L, its 4.4L. 745 is not 4.5L its 4.4L.
