He really needs to work on setting up play and passing...He seems rushed whenever an opposition player gets close to him...Also could do with being a bit less eratic sometimes. It seems he goes into a challenge at full speed when sometimes judging a situation before intervening is a better idea.

Still our best defender but I still fear for our defence..

it wasnt the best decision from him, but i felt he wouldve gotten the ball if he didnt kick the ground, im pretty sure he wouldve gotten ball.

I hope he'll learn from his penalty mistake in Madrid game.
The tackle is clumsy and he can made a wiser decision at that time because Raul is going nowhere.

Tackles in the box usually should only occur as last gasp efforts. He is bigger than Raul and could have forced him into an akward position to shoot without going through him 1st. It was a mistake and I'm sure Ciro will point it out.

He is a good tackler though, he just needs to know when not to do it.

Anyone noticed that whenever Chiellini plays next to canavarro he tends to be poor !!

When Legro came in in the second half i've felt that both those players are better off playing together.....

Hopefully the only reason for that are the 2 years Legro and Giorgio spent playing together, while with Cannavaro he played 10 matches at most. But i fear it's more than that.

Still, match after match, i can see both of them playing better. Yesterday Cannavaro played a very good match (long time since i've seen him make those beautiful last man tackles and win the ball) and apart from that episode when Canna couldn't stop Ronaldo from making the pass to Raul and Giorgio was late with his tackle, the two of them did fine playing together.

Being outplayed in one single occasion by Ronaldo and Raul is nothing to be ashamed of. It can happen to all the best defenders in the world. But apart from that penalty incident, i believe that Canna and Giorgio held the defense well in the first half.
