Buffon: "Tornerò a inizio dicembre"
21 10 2005

A inizio dicembre dovrei tornare a giocare".

Buffon targets December return Friday 21 October, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Injured Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is targeting a December return to action.

The shot-stopper, renowned as the best in the world, has been sidelined since the August friendly against Milan.

Buffon was forced to have shoulder surgery after clashing with Kaka, but he insists he’ll be playing again before Christmas.

"My recovery is proceeding well," the 27-year-old said. "My shoulder will be like new in the near future. I should be back by early December."

The Bianconeri reacted to the loss of the former Parma player by signing Christian Abbiati on loan from Milan.

Although the Italian has only conceded two top-flight goals so far, he’s not totally convinced at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

He had started to make some fine saves in recent weeks before his setback in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Italian international was clearly at fault for Bayern Munich’s opener during the 2-1 defeat in Germany.

ok gigi said he will be back playing by early december what match do people here expect to see him back for.

it would be great is his first match back was to be on december 4th away to the viola what an atmosphere.

(or maybe the coppa italia match on dec 1st against the viola also)

on dec 7th its the away champions league match in vienna, this would be a good match for a comeback as gigi prob would have very little to do.

on dec 11th juve at home to cagliari

on dec 18th juve away to lazio

on dec 21st juve at home to siena

buffon said he def will be back before christmas so maybe it will be one of these games.

or perhaps medical staff will think it wiser to hold him back until after the christmas break on jan 8th juve away to palermo.

buffon is already back in training and diving so soon he will resume full training soon if not already.

there is no doubt that he will not be rushed back too soon so when he is back he will be physically 100% lets hope its sooner rather than later

i for one would love to see him line out on dec 4th or as soon as possible so he will be match sharp come january.

hurry back gigi

Buffon anticipa i tempi

Gigi Buffon
Gigi Buffon Grazia Neri

He wont be back until 2006, mark my words.
I would take no risk and won´t let him play until 2006. I think this had been the most dangerous injuiry for a keeper

What games can he be potentially back by? what games do we have in December? If its not so many I wouldn't risk it.

I'd stick with Abbiatti. Against bayern he looked more confident behind goal. Probably because he's seen how badly Chimenti played thus lifting a bit of burden off of Abbiati's shoulders.

Zlatan has a knack for this sort of thing. You may want to heed his advice here. ;)

I mean, Alena and her two puppies are great to keep drooling over on La Domenica Sportiva and all, but I wanna see Gigi back in goal!!

It's just not the same.

The Viola are murderous on their day, and this season, almost every matchday seems to be their day.. Cagliari isn't as much of a threat as last season..
Lazio always seem to step up their game against us.
Siena will be a good game for the bianconeri.. (Juventus.. DUH :D)

So, overall, I'm thinking december is an average month..
