The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly.

It's the 4th book in the Lincoln Lawyer series. I haven't read any of the others, but this one is cool. Deals with the foreclosure industry.

Now reading a book I bought at an airport, so you can imagine how good it must be. :lazy: John le Carré: A most wanted man. In Danish, for my amusement.

Just started O Alquimista by Coelho. It is above the threshold of being able to follow the story, but not by much. It never ceases to amaze me how much the brain is able to improvise though. I have a pretty poor grasp on the Spanish simple past, yet it's enough to recognize it in Portuguese, at least in some common verbs like tener.

Maybe it's just your brain :D
More like my brain in its current state. I've done a lot of language study in the past 2-3 years and I sense my mind has become rather "flexible" for it. I notice similarities between words easily now. Also studied Italian grammar very thoroughly which turns out to be almost exactly the same in French, Spanish and no doubt Portuguese :D

Just curious, but why do you all hate The Hunger Games? I'm not too big a fan of reading (I always end up falling asleep after about 30 minutes), but two of my friends love the series, so I'd just like to hear a differing opinion :p.

So the hunger games? New twilight or anything a bit better?
It's definitely better. Then again watching paint dry is better than Twilight. Additionally while both of them are YA you're talking about a sparkling vampire vs. a dysotopian society, so you take your pick as to which of them you would rather read. :p In the grand scheme of things Hunger Games is just okay but from what I heard it is a rip-off of a book called Battle Royale which is supposedly much better, but one that I have never read myself.

There is nothing to hate about THG. The idea behind the book was not a bad one. What people are failing to realise however is that the book was written with the teens in mind not adults so perhaps it was not catering for their tastes. It certainly doesn't end in your happily-ever-after. In fact there is quite a lot of pain and loss for the protagonist. It was too much on the teenage side for me but definitely not a bad read if you are in your teens.

P.S. The movie however was far too idiotic for me. Don't even bother with it.
