So the hunger games? New twilight or anything a bit better?
It's definitely better. Then again watching paint dry is better than Twilight. Additionally while both of them are YA you're talking about a sparkling vampire vs. a dysotopian society, so you take your pick as to which of them you would rather read.

In the grand scheme of things Hunger Games is just okay but from what I heard it is a rip-off of a book called
Battle Royale which is supposedly much better, but one that I have never read myself.
Just curious, but why do you all hate The Hunger Games? I'm not too big a fan of reading (I always end up falling asleep after about 30 minutes), but two of my friends love the series, so I'd just like to hear a differing opinion

.
There is nothing to hate about THG. The idea behind the book was not a bad one. What people are failing to realise however is that the book was written with the teens in mind not adults so perhaps it was not catering for their tastes. It certainly doesn't end in your happily-ever-after. In fact there is quite a lot of pain and loss for the protagonist. It was too much on the teenage side for me but definitely not a bad read if you are in your teens.
P.S. The movie however was far too idiotic for me. Don't even bother with it.
