He didn't fail anything.

Football fans nowadays think strikers should score from every chance, angle, and situation given. It doesn't work like that. Not even Messi can do that.

Stop dreaming and think Borini could do a better job than Balotelli.
I think Balo's been great for Italy for this whole Euro so far, just unlucky IMO... Hell I really like the kid, I like his swagger and attitude, I wish we had him on Juve to be honest. This guy has the physical ability to be a world class player in a few years, he just needs the right guidance and the experience and technical ability, once he gets those things together its over folks!

Did he meant to strike it like that?

This isn't wrestling. Obviously technical ability comes first. If you have it, but lack physical ability, you go to the gym. If it's the other way around, you change the sport. Also you don't need to be a rocket scientist to be a good player, but you can't be a total retard either.

Balotelli is doing everything right...he'll score soon.

Balotelli is fine. He has to start against Germany. He's also physically in a better form than most of the Azzurri players are. My concern is Cassano's poor physical form. Given the little time for Italy to recover, I doubt he can even finish the first half.

Balo tried to be too flashy on those two occasions. He should've done better on both chances.

That was straight at Hart, he should've bagged that.

Again, he failed to score a great chance. He should've reached that. '

And the worst of all is that one-on-one he missed after a sensual pass by Pirlo.

Benzema was bloody awful.
Balotelli is a bloody beauty.
Benzema had two assists to his name and was great for France in the group stages.

Other than his (great) goal against the Irish Balotelli done nothing other than wasting easy chances.

He's going to start against Germany, as he is a physical beast and can trouble their back-line. He's also more fit than the other strikers, if I'm not mistaken. Deal with it :p

I'd rather Balo starting, and then we can bring on Di Natale or Gio for the unfit Cassano, depending on how the game is evolving. Starting with a pocket sized striker against Germany will do more harm than good ;)

Just incase anyone missed this in the funny pictures thread. Its an England fan trying to distract Diamanti.

I guess his tiny wiener provided more comic relief, rather than being an actual distraction for Diamanti :howler:

As well as still having to cover a lot of distance even when just shuffling back and forward to maintain shape, it's pretty demoralising playing like that over an extended period unless you are really mentally prepared for it.
Mentally, I don't think they know they can push through much better sides by sticking to a game plan. Like Greece. Or that these players will have faith in a better coach like Capello.

I don't even think Hodgson is a good coach after what I've heard from him since his appointment, spoke about he same old crap yesterday "determination" and such. People were trying to pass of a spell at Inter 14 years ago as a window into knowing how to cope with the Italians which I found bizarre.

Oh well. I suppose they can remain glad that the team wasn't set up properly to help counter Pirlo, but I don't think they're even in terms of ability.
