Italy won't be making the KO stage if Prandelli doesn't stop being a pussy and play some attckers, Giachherini isn't cutting it, same for Maggio and Motta.

Prandelli should replace/rest those players who aren't vital to the team. I'm talking about the match vs Ireland. Italy are the much better team and should win it. So, lets say, rest 5-6 players on which Italy can count in the knock outs. Rest one of the attackers, play Balzaretti, Abate on the wings instead of Giac and Maggio, and play Nocerino in midfield. Since Pirlo is the team, it won't change a lot who plays next to him and in front of him when Italy faces Ireland, but a "not exhausted" Cassano, Marchisio, Maggio etc can make a difference in the quarters compared to a more tired squad.

Cassano will always be exhausted after the first half. Easily 10kg overweight.

I prefer an out of form Maggio over Abate any day of the week.

The ones who fucked up so far for the goals Italy conceded are De Rossi and Chiellini.

Barzagli will replace De Rossi in the center of the defense. De Rossi in return replaces Motta. Balzaretti will replace Giaccherini. New blood is definitely needed in attack. That only leaves Maggio and Marchisio to be replaced.

I don't think Italy can beat Ireland w/o Cassano, or at least not comfortably enough - the Irish are very physical team and generally an inconvenient opponent for Italy. A player like Cassano would be essential in making that defense-splitting thru pass to deal with an overcrowded defense.

Wasn't really about Buffon as much as it was about the Italian media fearing that Spain and Croatia will fix the match.
