People dont give defensive players as much credit as offensive players. Us Juve fans know Vidal is a very rare player (as he is probably the best ball winning midfielder in the world). Because he is so rare he commands a huge transfer fee. But its much harder to find midfielders with his qualities then it is to find strikers like Higuain (who is great but there are 10 or 15 strikers in the world who are at a similarly high level. I would never trade Vidal for anyone.

The beauty of our team is that we win because of our team's overall dominance and our diverse scoring. If someone gets hurt we just plug someone in and continue. We are not dependent on one striker.
Selling Vidal for Higuain is laughable to me. Vidal is essential in contributing to our team's overall dominance of the games we play. It's much safer IMO to create a team that simply outplays its opponent game in and game out instead of one that looks to supply their great striker and pray.
Higuain I feel is also a luxury not a necessity. I do agree that we need a striker to be truly great. But we just need someone who puts the ball in the net, we don't need the best of the best. It would be nice but not at the expense of Vidal who is the heart of our team.
Vidal is too unique. And the important and fortunate thing is that he has the attitude and spirit to match his talent.

I don't think we will even consider a lower offer. As a matter of fact if Martinez went for 40m, Vidal might get a bit more. Of course Martinez doesn't ask for similar wages, but those teams interested in Vidal for more than 40m would expect a hefty salary. He would be perfect for United or City.
And yes if we have 40m in cash I believe we would get anyone of those names. Even Falcao. For him we might need a few more mils(less than 10), but nothing we wouldn't be able to afford.
The funny part is that on the same web site (transfermarkt.de) Marchisio has a higher value than Vidal. He is listed as a 31m player, 1m more than the chilean. He is also a homegrown player, loves the club, has a lower salary and is in line for captaincy.
Having said that if someone came with 40m+ offer for Marchisio I will definitely consider it.
