Honestly I wouldn't die or anything if we got a world beating striker in the vain of Higuain or Falcao + some cash in exchange for Vidal considering we have Pogba and Asamoah (two midfielders with a similar style to Vidal that I know are potentially as good if not better). CF's are arguably the most important players on the pitch and they can separate a good team from a truly great one. They give teams a buffer when they're off form (refer to Milan with Zlatan and last seasons Chelsea with Drogba) - with a great striker, you can play badly and win matches you can play brilliantly and completely dominate your opponents as well. Either way you look at it, with this current Juve under Conte, a world class CF would be a sure ticket to an era of success and its doubtful we'll acquire one with cash on our budget.

We probably won't sell or swap Vidal but it may be a very real and reoccurring scenario in relation to completing this squad with a world class attack which is without doubt the hardest thing to do for any GM in Marotta's position.

Well...

Falcao would be tempting. You said Benzema would be equally tempting, and I strongly disagree with that.

But even if we were to get Falcao, I still wouldn't let go of this guy.

Fair enough. But i was talking in terms of the requirements of the team.Benzema is a complete striker unlike the other two.In terms of 'fitting the system' you cant find a better player than him.Not saying the former two wouldnt. But considering we have Llorente too ,a Llorente-Benz partnership for instance can co exist as opposed to a Llorente-Higuain or Llorente-Falcao.This is all speaking hypothetically ofcourse.

What is more rare? A CM like Vidal or CF like Falcao? And just as important and relevant - what is easier to buy? Taking those questions into account, a swap (maybe +cash) deal with a player like Benzema, Cavani or Falcao isn't so laughable because first, those players are pretty damn rare and extremely expensive and second, we bought Vidal for 11M euros and we just got a young CM who will probably be better for free! I don't want to sell Vidal and I don't think we will but don't laugh at someone for having a completely plausible opinion.

I wasn't laughing at him. Just wanted to make it clear how much I oppose a Benzema-Vidal swap deal. I have the utmost respect for @The Cusp.

:agree: I'm recruiting you for my "Wisdom Team" :D

I love Vidal, and wouldn't sell him, but quality/WC CF's are rare/a dying breed in the current footballing world, just like quality/WC fullbacks and wingers.
 Who's in the wisdom team? Do they bash idiots?
Exactly. Great CM's are so widely available. That's exactly why we were able to build a world class midfield for peanuts and we still can't find a great CF which for this club should not be as difficult as it has been.
