Marotta knew what he was in for when he accepted the job. We are not running a kindergarden here with guidance. If he wasn't ready for the job he shouldn't have accepted it.

There is no way he can be defended with reasoning that the board is fucked up for not hiring Sabatini to help him.

I still say give Marotta this summer, make it or break it.

We have fixed more this summer already than we have in almost 2 seasons and it looks like we are getting ready to fix our biggest one yet...

No, I am not hating him. I admit that he had some excellent displays last season but to be honest, he is not consistent. I mean. do you need a player that you pray before every game that he does not make a stupid foul or fight or error?
Apart from getting sent off against Parma and a few poor passes last season that led to goal, what exactly can you blame Melo for?

In terms of playing to a certain standard when we consider his ability, Melo was more consistent than Krasic, Marchisio, and Aquilani season, probably being our most consistent midfielder all together. I think it was fairy well admitted that he was our best CM last season.

If we're trying to sell him, we are idiots. Period. He's not going to fetch enough to truly improve the squad.

The way everyone is describing this guy (Granted, I have never seen him play), he sounds a lot like Hernanes.

Am I off base on this?
Don't worry, I bet you many who talk up Vidal haven't seen him play either.

I wouldn't say he's Hernanes, a player who plays further up the pitch. Vidal is best described as an all-action box-to-box midfielder who can really do it all. He would be a perfect fit next to Pirlo and Melo.

It's a dead discussion when it comes to the butt-buddy, no matter how many games he disappears per season he'll have his crew backing him up.
Indeed.

Fair enough. But you can't deny he has potential and has shown pretty damn good composure in front of goal. He is much better than our back ups.
Of course he has potential. He has a very good goal instinct and I like his fighting spirit but it is almost impossible to fill in Trezeguet's boots :touched:

Doesn't say a lot but I also share some worry about Matri, even though I think he is quite capable of making 20 goals again, he showed flaws in terms of converting chances. I think it was right to keep him though.

Marotta is doing in 2 years what Secco did in three-four. Secco failed miserably when he brought Diego and Melo as the champions we were lacking.

This is Marotta's make it or break it summer. This summer is the most important one in a very long time.

Melo being what 28 now? I don't see him really getting any better than he already is.
Fine, if he performs like past season, he is better then aqua, marchisio, sissoko.

Lets sell all those we own, and keep melo

with the money from failchisio and lolsokko, add some more and get vidal.

Melo is a loose cannon. Blows hot and cold and is inconsistent. If people claim Marchisio drops off the face of the earth they need to see Melo has done the same.

He failed his first year. Got suspended how many times/games this year? Sure, in his good games he was great. But let's go ahead and neglect the times he was below par.
melo was our most consistent player this past year, its ok we know you dont watch the games, coz when you do oh boy :p anyhoos stop defending marchisio for no apparent reason but your gay infatuation, he is limited and at best a squad player.

I must blame him for failing miserably in his form when the team was not doing well. He is the type of player that fails when the team spirit is down. Although he pretends or tries to be a leader, he is not. I just don't like him. I may be wrong, but Melo is not my cup of tea. Unreliable. I would not like that type of player with a poor attitude if I would've been the coach.
