They aren't the same sort of players.

:rolleyes2

He was more reliable than everyone's butt-buddy Marchisio, and a better performer than 90% of the team last season. But OK, lets the hate player, that's cool.
No, I am not hating him. I admit that he had some excellent displays last season but to be honest, he is not consistent. I mean. do you need a player that you pray before every game that he does not make a stupid foul or fight or error?

Melo is a loose cannon. Blows hot and cold and is inconsistent. If people claim Marchisio drops off the face of the earth they need to see Melo has done the same.

He failed his first year. Got suspended how many times/games this year? Sure, in his good games he was great. But let's go ahead and neglect the times he was below par.

The way everyone is describing this guy (Granted, I have never seen him play), he sounds a lot like Hernanes.

Am I off base on this?

Vidal is a great player, but do we really need to buy him? I mean, we have Melo and that position is covered. Maybe we should spend that money on other positions...

EDIT: If he comes for a good price I wouldn't oppose, since this guy can play almost any position.

It's a dead discussion when it comes to the butt-buddy, no matter how many games he disappears per season he'll have his crew backing him up.

The most overrated player in Juventus modern history.

Cronios, let me ask you a question.

What big holes do you see on this team?

RB I think is pretty much covered now with Licht.

Ziegler/De Ceglie has a CHANCE to be better than what was thrown out there this year.

I think that it is safe to say that Pirlo, although not what he used to be, can be far more productive and useful than Aquilani could ever hope to be

In regards to CB, Chiellini is a lock, and to me anyway, Bonucci showed some real potential, although he did make his fair share of mistakes. However, I do think that adding Licht will allow Bonucci to concentrate more on his area of the pitch defensively, and not have to try and slide over to cover up for Motta and Grygera like he did last season.

LW is definitely a position of need, or at least a LM who can cover all facets of the game, depending on what formation Conte decides to use.

In regards to the striker position, although you and others say that it is not a position of need, Juve have waited far too long to get someone that can replace Del Piero for the future.

So, I am assuming that you are referring to the LB and LW/LM positions?

I agree that he has found a mess left behind from the water boy and the ones that nanipulating him and blanc.
But Marotta also had comitted sone tragic mistakes.
He did overpay for the mediocre italians he brought and made no decent profits from the sales of players like diego and giovinco.

I have yet to see smth worthy of praise.

I really dont believe that the transfer value of melo and vidal are equal. If marotta manages to sell melo close to the praise we got him and get vidal for less than 15 mil, thus making a 5-10 mil profit, then its praise worthy.

After watching him selling off Diego though and now get ready to buy Honda for the same sum, doesnt make me to feel confident to his abilities though...

I want to believe in him, but like scully, I need to see some facts first.
We still do have a tendency to throw away cash every year for more new nediocre players, rather than less and better ones.
We still try to fine tune our defensive issues, caused by incompetent defenders, by changing cms, instead of upgrading our material there.

These are faulty tactics, I called them as such since the first day we applied them, we fail every year because of them and I will keep pointing them out until we wake up and fix them, right we are doing with the rd issue.
i still think you are harsh on marotta, but its his first time at a big club without anyone as guidance, and a pathetic board.
But, i can understand you are annoyed by this, we could have had an expirienced big club ds

but i think he was the best we could have gotten, and has potential.

I rate melo, for having balls, what everybody lacked, especially marchisio. marchisio should be sold. i hate how he talked big in the press "we must spit blood on our shirts", and then played like a big furry pussy without any drive.

But, melo needs guidance, and melo is older. yeah, we seriously overpayed melo, and thing is, how much can he realistically improve at 28 ?
i think they give up on him and look at vidal, who has potential to become much better then melo could still become.

i think we should get vidal, definatly, because that guy has crazy potential.
but we should keep melo as understudy.

also, pirlo-vidal, with wingers and two strikers is just to weak, you need vidal-melo to take points in milan

And a finisher. I like Matri and we can cope with him for one more season if we get Kun but next season a priority would be a world class finisher.

I still have faith in Marotta, but that right there is just lame, dude.

He's been doing this for far too long to think that he would need guidance.

He's his own man.
