He was great last night, really makes our midfield and play much better. His side way passes and his turns are a necessity on this team. Our season would be different without Arthur's injury.
yea, he is only midfielder in this team who can push the play forward. He also cant do long pass to change the side fastly, but his little tricks let him push forward and move us forward. The problem is, he is only midfielder of ours who can do it.

Decent game but his passing is incredibly frustrating.

Far too limited with the ball, I can't work out whether he just doesn't see passes or doesn't have the confidence/ability to make them.
I think this is what Pirlo instructs him to do. Coaches don't exactly love risky passes in possession, especially coaches like Pirlo as they could potentially lead to a counter with their high back line. Pirlo's instructions are probably more focused on moving the ball quickly from side to side rather than trying to find a forward pass.

He was great tonight though and wa helping us control the game. We went to shit again after he left the field.

Would be a great player of he was able to make more forward passes.
There was a moment where he had the ball on the break and he could have put McKennie through on goal. Shame he didn’t.

Other than that, this guy is really important for the team. We have a really stable platform with him. He has unbelievable traction and is as safe as a house in possession. I personally think with the unique qualities he offers he’d be an asset to any Brazilian national team this side of the millennium.

We just need someone with box to box ability and legs to go beside him.

He was good but I still can't bite. I have a feeling he won't be good enough for us, just like the rest of our midfield.
Same for me.

He's brilliant at keeping the ball. As close to perfection as you're going to get.
But is that enough, if you're way below par on all other aspects of the game? I guess we'll find out since he's here to stay anyway, regardless of his performances.

Its not like we have better players and he's on trial or something lol
I get that. But it's not even funny. I'm not saying he shouldn't start, because he should. But looking at our players it's pretty worrying since it won't be possible to replace all of them in one summer. We might get a monster DM but we'll be stuck with brainless midfield capable of creating nothing. Or we might buy a wizard yet we'll have more holes than ever which leaves our fragile defense quite open. It's really bad we don't have one reliable player in mid so we build around him from now on. Imo it's not crying from my behalf but we're in a horrible position and from reaching cl finals we might crumble just like Inter and Milan did. It's all fault of buying wrong players.

It's enough if you field someone with flair next to him.

He gets the ball and turns towards our goal. Every single time. Multiple times yesterday Cuadrado (and later McKennie) would make forward runs only for Arthur to see the run and yet make a sideways pass. It's like he's more afraid of losing the ball than anything else on the field.
