Conte is and always will be a club legend, but he really needs to consider what he's saying before he says it. With the way he left during the summer, and the statements he's been making, he's stirring up animosity and a lot of it is deserved. The statement he made today was just totally unnecessary, considering the course of events.
Do we need to hate him for it? No. Does it lessen his achievements as player and coach at Juventus or reduce his status as a club legend? No.
It is however silly, and makes him seem like a petty and ridiculous man. It's an absurd statement. And considering how he left, and when he left, and the reason he left (followed by a quick slap in the face by taking another job) he should really just keep his mouth shut about how his hypothetical Juventus would be doing this year. Or he's just inviting ridicule and distaste from Juve fans.
Seriously. He went out of CL last year in the group stage. I'd rather win the scudetto with 87 points and reach CL QFs like the previous year, then get 102 points and go out in the group stage. If Allegri wins the scudetto with around 90 points, and gets us to the CL QFs, I'll consider it more successful than last year.
