If we are talking about potentially a new coach and/or system then there is plenty of motivation, we have to raise our level to be able to compete in Europe, you don't switch it on and off depending on domestic or continental competition. That was our biggest problem this season.

Even though they have to play CL as well, Roma will be stronger next season. If Conte leaves I doubt we'll be a shoe-in, maybe 50-50 chance

Again, you're looking at this on paper, without considering the other psychological variables if the team loses Conte. I'll go out on a limb and say, that we'd be lucky if we finish third next season if we get any of the candidates we've been linked to.

That is because Conte had a clear mandate with how he wanted to build on his first scudetto success. It's very easy to lose your way if you don't know how to move ahead. Right now, you're making it seem like Conte had nothing to do with the success in the 2nd and 3rd scudettos because he was provided all the greatest players in the world. That is not true. He knew the profile of player he wanted in the absence of the 30m signing we couldn't make. He has worked with the lack of resources more than anybody else at the club. Not giving him his due is just being in denial about his being integral to this project.

I meant improving our personnel, as we brought some really quality acquisitions and shifted a weight a bit.


I'm not saying it will be easy and hands down to Conte for all he's done. If anything I've been praising the guy throughout the season, while some were scrutinizing him. I believed that he was the right choice for many reasons, but now I also believe that our team is strong enough to challenge again even without him.

No really, I'm not. I've been one of the more vocal advocates of how our mentality holds this team together, but we will still be favourites. You can't expect this team to go from 100 points to a jibbering wreck, but there is always a chance for a team to have a disastrous season.

At some point we aren't going to win the league, this isn't the SPL, but if we are talking about losing our coach (and not this apparently inevitable mass exodus that will follow it) then we are still the team to beat. We might play next season with Conte and not win the league, but we can't find out both scenarios.

Asamoah and Lichtsteiner aren't defensive fullbacks. One is a LCM, and the other is an attacking fullback.

Llorente is a striker, he is supposed to finish half chances and that's what he did, twice.
