Totally unacceptable interview by Conte, but unfortunately it's not uncommon. Every time we lose or draw, Conte complains about how we deserved to win instead of learning from the loss and the mistakes made. I hardly see any tactical improvement from him at all. He got schooled by Jesus, who tactically outsmarted him yesterday. Even though he's a complete fucking nutjob, Jorge Jesus does know how to organise his team and balance shit out, even when he was down to 10-9 men..

learning about european competition? what exactly does this mean? this is honestly an over used over hyped exaggerated notion often said here... many people make it seem like as if european competition is some kind of alien's football that is completely alien and in stark contrast with the national league juventus yearly compete in it's just bull$#@! really... don't forget that conte himself played on those european competitions, to give you other perspective, mourinho was a provincial player who never played in european competition or any of the top leagues yet we didn't see mourinho being 'alien' to top competitions and needed 'to learn' now, doesn't this learning to compete in europe excuse actually totally ridiculous?

There were already few examples given, by looking at SAF, ancelotti, wenger, capello and many other. So yeah learning and experience are important. Also to add, this is conte's second season playing in Europe for his entire career.



The last time we won champions league is 18 years ago. Between that we've been coached by Lippi, Ancelotti, and Capello all with better squad than Conte has now, yet they also failed.

I don't know how it can be generalized that we played bad this season. Sure there are some matches that we don't perform well but overall this is a good season. We had the most shot on target in CL during the group stage (CMIIW), and I also believe that we top other statistics in seri-a also. We just need some more mentality, luck, and swuad depth and it will be a better year in Europe next season. We were also having fatigue problem playing every 3 days in the second part of the season. Isla, padoin, peluso, osvaldo, quag, vucinic is no where near our first team, leaving a very risky choice to rotate player. Even roma and napoli had better subs than us.

Two years ago both Manchester team failed in group stage, and also failed in Europa league. Every manager had their failed competition. So what's the big deal?

No Juve's manager has won 3 consecutive scudetti in a very long time. But its just a stupid, uncompetitive competition. So yeah, nobody cares.

im quite astounded by the numerous attacks on Conte following last night's exit. I guarantee you if Juve had scraped a 1-0 win the usual suspects will moan at how boring we are or how he's using pussy tactics blah blah. no pleasing the fickle! some of you don't realise how fortunate we actually are to have someone like Conte at the helm and have clearly forgotten the shit years we've had in the past. yeah so what if Juve are storming the league which is considered weak, i don't see how that is Conte's fault? on the face of it Conte has taken Juve to a higher level each season, just look at the records he's breaking each season. our time in Europe will come soon enough, unfortunately to say this year just wasn't meant to be but it's not like Conte is a 70 something year old coach who will never break his mould. I said it before and i'll say it again, I hope our experience in the EL has helped the team and management alike of what is required in europe and more importantly knock out competition, I'm sure the experience will prove important for the future.

Doing it with 10 and 9 men when trying not to concede is not even a noteworthy approach, a trained chimp can stick everyone behind the ball. At that point it comes down to individuals holding their shape and winning individual battles.

For the other 60 minutes of the game I didn't see Juventus as inferior to Benfica. First half Benfica played to hold possession and nick a goal and Juventus were the better team for the 45, second half they had sporadic counters whilst trying not to concede.

What did you think about the post comments by Conte? I'm not going against Conte and I think it would be disaster to lose him, but the comments after match how we were better and lost only because of negativ approach of benfica nad bad refereeing were terrible imo.

I don't know, he talked about some possible penalty and the way ref disrupted the flow of the game by giving a lot of fouls and letting people roll around i think.

First of all conte's priority is to protect the psyche of his players who still need to win the scudetto, so everything said needs to be taken in that context.
i dont think we were better but we defo did more to score than them, benfica played their hearts out, but they really were negative and tried constantly to break our rhythm by either initiating fights or faking injuries, the ref didnt make major mistakes in the game but he definitely played into their hands as far as sportsmanship behavior, IMO we lost out to lima's moment of magic, pirlo nearly had one to cancel it out, but with all moments of magic sometimes it happens other times it doesnt.

Benfica were obviously time wasting and acting, but unfortunately the referee can't do much when someone goes down holding their head. Clattenburg twice laughed at Markovic for diving, but we did have some strong physical challenges going in. Obviously it suited the Portuguese to roll around and disrupt the game, it's something they are good at.

Football back then was fiercely competitive as a whole so you can't really compare it with today's version. Also Ferguson took a United team which was far from what it is today in terms of the magnitude of the club. You can say they were not a giant back then and Ferguson transformed them into one. So that in itself is very impressive, but it is totally different to Conte's situation at Juve. He inherited a Juve side after two average seasons, but in an average league and then won that league undefeated. But it was still Juve, whereas Man U in the 80's were not the Man U you know. Let's not forget that Ferguson had achieved European success with a small side like Aberdeen before he took the United job.

Still, Ferguson has always been a bit overrated imo.

That's the thing for some time now and in his post match conference it only got a stamp of approval. It seems he was playing for those little things. This approach needs to change if we want to be succesful in Europe.
