Did I say otherwise? All I am saying he needs to learn from this, and adapt/adopt a different philosophy in Europe. Learn to be more flexible and not as stubborn. IF he doesn't, we might as well label him Capello 2.0

I don't think the philosophy itself is wrong, Conte's philosophy is some what suited to European football more so than capello's but it goes back to what i said some time ago at how i believe marotta failed to deliver on certain targets, namely a winger who we were strongly linked with since the summer yet none arrived.

3-5-2 is a fully defensive formation. Why did we use this against the weak sides when we saw how much more fluid we are using your 4-3-2-1?

This is a serious failure on Conte's behalf.

Did he not see the ineffectiveness of the 3-5-2, or should we call it the 5-3-2 against Bayern last year?

Well for one, I saw Eboue making multiple runs down the line outpacing our flanks.

And for another, our attack is slow and predictable in a 3-5-2, it's hardly dominant. It's a low risk defensive formation that produces little in attack.

you can go all defensive against muhammad ali for 12 rounds neutralizing all his punches yet the jury will hand the win to ali if you can't even scratch him.

obsessing with such mentality just show how a loser you are.

imposing your play > neutralizing your opponents.

we did that in the 1st 6 months of conte's reign, so why we haven't done it against since? it's definitely conte's fault with his own mentality and approach.

and no, blunders we had at the start of this season also conte's fault, it's his job to prepare for the most part the same team he already had past 2.5 years, to suddenly found his players blundering right and left meant something went wrong.

the lack of wingers excuse can't hold because we still have such players, there's also nothing that prevent conte from using 4-3-2-1, we have quite many flexible players.

Bottom line: the ultra defensive/cautious approach, wont work in europe. At least this much must be obvious after 2 years and similar results in group stage.
Maybe this elimination, can work as a blessing in disguise -I thought Real games would do it- and starting from EL we see a different approach from him.
