Why does juventus need to leave its roots and become a disgustingly attacking team ?

Why cant we stick to our legacy, and remain the team that allways was excellent at killing opponent creativity, but only having limited creatvity ourselves, wich usually came from eighter the flanks, or the central joint ?
Why does attacking team = disgusting?

Though I like the central joint idea, we should stick with that.

Because it's not the 1990s anymore.

And also, you can kill your opponent's creativity without 5 defenders and a regista.

Evolution? Same reason why no one plays catenaccio anymore.

I feel like Conte is trying really hard to keep a formation that suits Pirlo. 4-3-3 is not the best for us right now IMO. I would prefer a 4-1-2-1-2 but the 2 mids in front of Pirlo would often be combining with fullbacks and drifting wider, therefore exposing Pirlo.
THIS. The attack goes through Pirlo but he's a defensive liability. The past two years the back three combined with Marchesio and Vidal have been able to protect him. But everyone except Vidal has had a dip in form and Pogba has been prone to a defensive mistake now and then.

Instead of a 4-4-2 diamond I would like to see a 4-1-3-2 and keep Pirlo in the regista role. Not sure we have anyone to play in the trequartista role so play with 3 mids who will come back to support. One of the forwards can drop in the hole to hold up play.

Why does nobody stops spain and barcelona, who have a pretty obvious counter to their tactics ?

Then comes italy, crowding the mid, domminating spain. And thats the best spanish generation against a mediocre italian one.

Then comes bayern, pretty much copying italy, having robben and ribery play as fullbacks, like eto'o in 2012 inter, basically having kroos/muller and mandzukic as only really offensive options and even they are freaking workhorses.

WHo is the most impressive team of the past years ?
-> last season bayern

Where they fancy&offensive ?
they field 4 defenders, 2 holding midfielders, a central attacking midfielder that is nearly as agressive as vidal, a striker working nearly like tevez, and "offensive wings" who actually defended their flank all the way down to their own box.

Yet, just because the name of the flanks is "ribery" and "robben", people think bayern actually plays 3 forwards and a creative CAM.

2012 bayern and 2010 inter. THAT was impressive shit

Against Barca he tracked backed and did a good job defending Alaba. But against Dortmund he played high and eventually by the end of the game he was second striker while Mueller played wide. Robben is an average defender at best. Ribery on the other hand is.

Regardless, i agree with your original post that Juve doesn't need to be an overly attacking team. The problem now is they are making mental mistakes in defense and prone to counter attacks. Would be nice to see better finishing

Yeah, against dortmund they shifted it around as the game progressed. While Robben is an average defender, having him and the fullback, does so very much. Offcourse, if he'd come against sanchez-ogbonna on the flank, that would be diffrent, especially when forced into duels.

Our current formation needs no neccecarely change, i agree. But the question poses to how we will replace pirlo. And for that we might have to change. 42-3-1 with high quality workhorse wingers is a way
