You're not alone with this feeling. It's like Conte didn't take anything out of the last two matches.

What I can't understand is Napoli is playing nicely at the moment against Torino at home using 4231. I don't see how they've got better players than us. I guess any excuse is good but it doesn't make sense at all.

That's what I've been failing to understand aswell, how the fuck is Nipples able to play such nice football with such shitty players in the back..

The system they've been using since Benitez took over is making them much better and tougher to break. It's evident that their back line is not exposed as much as it should be considering the overall quality there.

Yes but hte question is why can't we adapt this system as well? Going player by player we're superior imo. I'd say they have advantage on the wings but it's not like we're left without any options there. Vucinic played many successfull games on the left wing and our only problem would be RM/RWF as for now. It's still better than playing Isla as RWB, Asamoah as LWB and Giovinco as CF. That's my opinion anyway.

Very true. We could and we have players at our disposal to try something different from 3-5-2. The Real game was a perfect example. We faced one of the strongest European sides and arguably were a better team. Some valuable lessons could be learned out of that night. You could see how much our offensive play improved with just a simple change in formation, something that has been downplayed way too many times around these boards.

I credit the improvement to the increase in motivation more than the formation change. We used to have even higher intensity 2 years ago regardless of the formation deployed. Our only real problem was in finishing chances. With Tevez and llorente we dont have that problem any more its just that our hunger and intensity is less now.

I beg to differ, we've been missing goals left and right this season.

Motivation and intensity were the other part of our problem. I've never put the sole blame on our choice of tactics, but even today you could have seen that 3rd CB was pretty much useless, when facing a team with 1 forward and 4 FBs. This team is capable of much more.
