The only way Real Madrid would want Conte is if he wins the CL this season, such is their obsession with it.
I think by director they're referring to Pirlo. Who Ancellotti wants pretty bad. I don't think Madrid want Conte as much, as of right now. If he were to move, whether due to Marrotta or Juve's lack of liquidity on the market, then I think he'll move to the premier league.

Would you agree to this though? We win the CHL but lose Conte.
Would have to think it over. Depends if you see the ultimate goal as winning the CL, rather than being a consistently competitive side.

I think so much ground work has gone in now that if Conte were to leave his successor has such a good squad and base to work from that it would be far easier to remain competitive. I don't see why someone like Prandelli couldn't keep the team competitive, but he's a very different character.

Me too. Prandelli is a pretty good coach too.
He is, but he's not a real motivator IMO. At Juve, I think the coaches who re good motivators are the ones who end up succeeding. Pirandelli, while an attack minded coach, strikes me as a bit of a passive character. I can't see us have a ballsy attitude under him. I've liked the Azsurri under him but it could be argued that a lot of that is also down to Conte, considering the core of the team play under Antonio week in and out.

This is really what it's about. I think Conte has said more than once, that it's easy to win big in a one off season, like Inter did, but they didn't really build anything in the process. He knows that it's not about a one trophy, it's about building an identity and a legacy that often goes with it. That's what will help the club and team progress in the long term.

Na, one CL isn't worth losing Conte over. His long term benefit could mean a lot more to the club IMO.
Considering we've only ever won 2 CLs - one of which was overshadowed by the terrible tragedy in the crowd, I'd be very happy to lose Conte to win another one.

Anyway, I am sure Conte has only got another season or two max with us. His ambition is to manage overseas - definitely at a club with a lot of money to spend.

why some always say that the squad need a complete overhaul if we had to change the playstyle?

the way I see it, we have enough wide players to play a more wing oriented playstyle

LB? ogbonna and chiellini is quite adequate and instead of being proud with so called defensive wingbacks we can have even more solid defensive fullback.

LM/LWF? I really believe even asamoah, peluso and even de ceglie can play there, in theory considering they have defebsive partner behind them in chiellini/ogbonna or even asamoah/peluso themselves, the LM/LWF (in case of de ceglie/peluso)will have less burden in defense

peluso's and de ceglie's weakness can be covered by the LB while asamoah can concentrate more on offense with an LB behind him

then of course there's vucinic and giovinco

there's enough options there, same case with the right side, playing isla in front of litch is theoretically balanced just as once pepe played in front of litch

there is no reason we can't try it

or 3-4-2-1 with tevez-pogba-llorente upfront, etc
It is one thing to have players that may be startable on the wings and its another thing to have players made for playing on the wings.

you'll be shifting two centerbacks (one of which is world class) to fill a full back role. Asamoah (a make-shift WB already) would be utilized as a left winger when his defensive qualities are his best attributes. Isla would be completely without a position while he is already struggling to fulfill his natural WB role. You'd have bonucci's weaknesses exposed by removing him from his best position (has has demonstrated plenty of times that he works best in the middle of a three man defense). I dunno where Pirlo fits in this equation.
You'd have Tevez playing outside of his best position. You'd have mediocre players like giovinco as starters.

The players that wouldnt have to be played outside of their best position would be Licht, Barzagli, Vidal, Marchisio, Pogba, Giovinco (who'll have to be a starter) and Llorente (who'll start too). Chiello, Pirlo, Asamoah, Tevez, Vucinic would be underutilized.

In the 3-5-2 our best players are starting in their best positions. Second best players are substitutes that play out of their position like Giovinco and... i can't think of anyone else.
