Exactly. Conte has serious potential as a coach. The jury is still out but assessing a coach and deciding before the season even kicks off is a bit childish
The signs aren't great.
1. Claims a trademark 4-2-4 like it's some special flying-v mighty ducks secret weapon.
2. Spends too much time talking about juve spirit and wants players suicidal after a loss.
3. Rates Marchisio (joking).
4. Screams orders from the sideline ala DelNeri.

I hope I'm 100% wrong though.

In the pre-season so far - the players have not been able to retain possession or make passes any better than they have for the last two seasons - more of the same bs really

1. Yes, coaches bring there own systems to their teams
2. If he's interviewed what do you expect him to say? And yes he wants to instill a fear of losing, something DN failed to do
3. :p
4. Mourinho screams orders from the sideline , so did Van Gaal . It varies between coaches

Optimism is a beautiful thing. A novice coach, hardly any WC players, a bunch of new recruits, and people are still harping on about a promising
season. Anyone wanna take bets on hopes being crushed before Christmas?

I find Conte's tactics to be so concerning (predictable and ineffectual) that at times my mind has drifted off to imagine what would have happened this season if we had kept Del Neri and gotten him two outside backs, a LW and a support striker.

Matri Vucinic

Vargas i.e./ Pasquato Aqua/ March Melo Krasic

Zeigler/ PDC Chiellini Bonucci Lictsteiner

Buffon

OR

Matri
Vargas/ Pasquato Krasic

Marchisio Melo Aqua/ Pirlo

Zeigler/ PDC Chiellini Bonucci Lictsteiner

Buffon

but don't get me wrong, i'll support Conte and the players 100%. I just hope it works out

The 4-2-4 is a good idea, but he shouldn't stick to it as if it was a religion or something if he doesn't have the proper squad to fit this system. At the moment, with the squad we currently have, I think we are much better suited to the 4-3-3-system. Marchisio - Pirlo - Vidal is our best midfield, there can be no doubts about that. Leaving Pirlo and one of Marchisio/Vidal in the middle makes us too vulnerable. Conte must surely see this. Especially now that most italian sides operate with 4 or 5 players in the middle of the park.

It's the same for every single one of our players, barring Buffon, maybe Chiellini.

Krasic, Melo, Matri, Quag, Vucinic and everyone else would have no place in pre-Calciopoli Juve's starting XI.
as following players would not have a place there, right :

boksic, birindelli, amoruso, corini, carrera, lombardo, fonseca, di vaio, tudor, virchowod

note how i did not even name the usual escape goats in this discussion like salas, appiah, oliseh and so on

we always had a good bunch of dead wood... just because people either do not remember or did not even follow juve back then does not change the fact.
