Not impressed by Conte so far

Just in the last two days he has already mentioned tiredness and that Italian sides recently struggle against Spanish sides - I would have thought if anything Conte wouldn't make excuses, but to me comments about those things definitely bordering excuses.

Call it knee-jerking or whatever you like, I've seen enough pre-seasons to know what's coming.

That is a completely unfair assessment. Untill mid season you can not fairly judge a coach. Big difference with conte and ferrara. Conte was successful before

Conte was "successful" with lowly clubs. I remember giving DN till December and by then I decided he was doing a good job mainly due to the 17 match unbeaten streak - then of course January came.

I'd slightly trust Conte more than Ferrara though, Ferrara was a big softy
