They did look tired but that's not an excuse for such a bad exhibition. We could even follow simple tactical basics how do we expect to face a top side not even having a proper zone marking or an organized pressure system? Not even going on with the fact we could make 3 short passes without losing the ball.

Why would a serious football club plan a training camp in a place with temperatures like that. That's just bad planning which yet again shows how bad a GM Marotta is. Pre-season ctraining is a key factor in terms of a football team's fitness during a season.

Playing in that sort of heat is good for fitness anyway. But the normal temps in Philly and Toronto during this time of year are in the upper 80's, not 95.

I've played exhausted - excuses, too many excuses. The team were horrible, non-imaginative and clearly lacked tactics. What tops all of that is that Conte said he was pleased after the match - great winning mentality

i don't think they anticipiated such rise in temps across usa and canada. for alot oc cities across the two countries, there have been record increases in heat temperature. this is not something you anticpitate when you plan trips 6-7 months in advance.

I think Conte was referring to the apparently long high intensity training session that took place the day before in 42 degree heat. I've done 10 kilometer ergo time trials in the same heat and then have been expected to race hours later. In my opinion even if the players were too tired to properly pressure their opponent for 45 minutes which they shouldn't have been, Conte or anyone shouldn't have made an excuse of it. I'm tired of the excuses and I thought Conte was a no nonsense, no excuses type of manager but when you've got a job at this level the pressure is on to keep your job. It won't surprise me if Conte looks as weak as Delneri did if things don't go well for him this season.
