They did look tired but that's not an excuse for such a bad exhibition. We could even follow simple tactical basics how do we expect to face a top side not even having a proper zone marking or an organized pressure system? Not even going on with the fact we could make 3 short passes without losing the ball.
Last game was the first i saw this season and i had a glimpse of Del Neri which i disliked quite a lot. Hope that was just a punctual thing.

according to Chiellini and Conte they were tired from training in 42 degrees. All of them looked fatigued indeed.
Why would a serious football club plan a training camp in a place with temperatures like that. That's just bad planning which yet again shows how bad a GM Marotta is. Pre-season ctraining is a key factor in terms of a football team's fitness during a season.

I wonder what former Juventus coach Jens Bangsbo would say to this.

To be honest, as someone living in Canada, we did not expect such high temperatures.

4 more players would be a revolution and I don't want that.

Give me someone to replace Pepe and a real CB.

There's already a revolution in the starting 11 Rabbijaan. As things stand, we have four new starters and are looking at a guaranteed two more starting slots. Which means at a minimum, we already are going to be playing six new players. And seven, if one of Rossi, Aguero etc come. That's two revolutions in two years by the legendary Beppe Idiotta.

Playing in that sort of heat is good for fitness anyway. But the normal temps in Philly and Toronto during this time of year are in the upper 80's, not 95.

And Sporting were not tired?
obviously not, because they started preparation much earlier than us, because they have to be fit soon to play the champions league qualifiers ...

people who blast us for not being able to string together 3 short passes surely did never play a match of football while being exhausted... without stamina and fitness every pass will be sloppy and have much less accuracy, which will lead to the receiving player having even more problems to receive the misplaced ball which he will then play on with even less accuracy probably.

I've played exhausted - excuses, too many excuses. The team were horrible, non-imaginative and clearly lacked tactics. What tops all of that is that Conte said he was pleased after the match - great winning mentality

i don't think they anticipiated such rise in temps across usa and canada. for alot oc cities across the two countries, there have been record increases in heat temperature. this is not something you anticpitate when you plan trips 6-7 months in advance.

I think Conte was referring to the apparently long high intensity training session that took place the day before in 42 degree heat. I've done 10 kilometer ergo time trials in the same heat and then have been expected to race hours later. In my opinion even if the players were too tired to properly pressure their opponent for 45 minutes which they shouldn't have been, Conte or anyone shouldn't have made an excuse of it. I'm tired of the excuses and I thought Conte was a no nonsense, no excuses type of manager but when you've got a job at this level the pressure is on to keep your job. It won't surprise me if Conte looks as weak as Delneri did if things don't go well for him this season.

There can never be reasons, only excuses. What I read from Conte was based mostly on the mentality of the team, and the rest were side issues. Valid side issues. He knows that you win in difficult moments. But christ, a little context wouldn't go amiss before I read any more about comparisons with Delneri. It's like some are waiting for Conte to fail, even willing it. 'I told you so', well, that's great. Well done.

Get with the program, Jay.

You're talking about the game as if it was a mere friendly, early on in the preparations.
