I'm sure there's somebody in our starting XI who's capable of putting the ball into the box considering it's not exactly a skill that only the utmost elite can do

Anybody can hoof a ball in to the box from a dead ball situation. Hell, Pogba has a good cross on him.

IIRC Tevez once had a corner assist for Chiellini last season when Pirlo was subbed off :D

But our offensive corners aren't really the issue, what's a massive problem is our strange disability to defend them, or any deadball cross for that matter.

Like who can actually cross on this squad anyway?
We scored a pair of goals on corner kicks last season assisted by Carlitos, against Samp and Bologna. He kicks them nice. Though he does not kick them very often, being Pirlo often on the pitch. However, Pirlo is quite good at crosses on open play, but on corners he gives the worst out of him. Probably cause he has to cut them in and can't do it very well, don't know. Also Caceres is a very good crosser in our team, but on corner kicks is best to have him in the box.

I seem to a remember a CL final this year where the first 2 goals of the game came from corners. A good delivery can cause all sorts of trouble for any team no matter how organised they are.

Dont forget Man United won the CL from 2 corners in 99. Our short corners were nothing but a disgrace.

Yeah let's not make it sound as though it takes some technical magician to whip in a good cross.

3/4 of our team would put in a decent delivery, we're clearly not avoiding using proper corners because nobody can cross it, Conte just liked his short corner set pieces. 1 or 2 worked pretty well but mostly we posed zero threat and sometimes we used corners just to keep possession to negate the threat of counters which is just way too defensive minded for my liking.

Tavecchio will Conte contact today to offer Italy's bench - GDM

After the elections, FIGC's president Carlo Tavecchio Focuses on finding the next coach of italy. He'll reach out to Antonio Conte today. The former Juventus coach knows that he would earn less than in a club, but the economic terms are not a problem. Conte wants guarantees on his decisional autonomy, he wants to be completely free. It remains to be seen whether FIGC would allow that. Conte could think about taking the job, if the offer was convincing from the economical standpoint and planning. Tavecchio will try to convince Conte, Italy waits to know their new coach.
