Alright. Let me get this straight.

When we fail in Europe, it's because we were unlucky, individual mistakes, and all that jazz.

However, when we succeed, it's because we got our tactics right, a favorable draw, and everyone performed as they are expected to.

I just need closure and clarification on this matter.
No one said we were just unlucky - we weren't good enough... But to blame the mentality every time we loose isn't sufficient imo. Sometimes you have the mentality right, but fail to deliver anyway...

My thoughts....

The one big difference between the CL and playing in Serie A is that you can have a handful of draws in Serie A and make up for it over time. In the CL, if a team is not firing on all cylinders for a couple of weeks and get draws or losses in some cases, you can't make up for it. And I think during periods of each season under Conte we went through some purple patches where we didn't play well but got some results in Serie A, but that wasn't reflected in the CL this season.

I guess the CL is less forgiving than domestic leagues.

do they have other (atleast solid) wingers in the team? maybe they should try a 3-4-3 with fast wingers as they play high paced and counterattacking football?

and how important is Sneijder (the AM) for their system?

No one here realizes the difference between Van Gaal's 3-4-1-2 with Sneijder behind the strikers and our 3-1-4-2 with Pirlo in front of the defence?

One is attacking, one is defending.

Trequartista vs. Regista is a huge difference in team play style.

Nvm, thank you Liquid
