I blame Conte for two things tonight:

1- He had a plan to defend from the beginning, we conceded early and we are left without a plan (the same thing happened last year against Bayern)
2- We reacted well in the second half, we scored the equaliser and fell asleep. He enhanced the falling asleep by introducing Osvaldo, it's as if he intentionally didn't want to threaten Benfica anymore.

This is not the first mistake Bonucci made, yet Conte insists on playing him. The fault is 100% on Conte. It's his job to change things when they're not working. Marotta even got him a 15M defender last Summer.

We were constantly trying to outpace their defence, each time one of the wingbacks got trough, it was scrambling in the box for them, as they had trouble reaching positions in time. Look at how many chances came from deep balls to the flank, of over the defence to a runner. About every single one.

Conte sacrificed the better forward Llorente, to counter the weak spots of their defence harder. Sadly, we werent as clinical as we should have been

I am simply trying to explain your apparently incredibly inferior brain, why conte opted for those players.

I'd probably preferred tevez-llorente cause of the supreme quality, but considering the chances we created, conte was spot on and clinicality and bad luck in that aspect let us down.
