Jesus $#@!ing christ you must be $#@!ing trolling me man and it's working.

They are a great team, but today they didn't show it. Could be they gave us too much respect. Could be that they missed their 4 regulars. We had the opportunity to go to the second leg 1-2 or 1-3 upfront, but we didn't, and that's our fault. How can you not see that?
We had several good chances to score 3-4 goals today. We didn't finish them. Are you so blind that you cannot see that? Me thinks so. Go watch another team, one you can circle jerk over their pressing with the rest of your little minions here. You make pretty much every thread on this forum unbearable.

Commonsense. Of course he has to shoulder some of the blame if we go out. But to label him a "pussy and a loser", is deranged and delusional, and so entirely disrespectful.
I remember calling him a pussy in Europe a while back as well (while talking about our exit from CL)

But thinking hard over it, a man who has got us 3 sucessive Serie A titles, QF in first CL season and Semis of Europa League in the second season deserves respect. Criticism is fine, disrespecting is not.

I still think Conte has nothing on most of the top European managers (YET) but i am hoping it changes from as early as next season.

So far Conte has done brilliant, almost better than any Coach we would have had. Let us just forgive him for a CL exit (One bad season) and see how he does next year.

Anyways, i think we are going to the final. I think Conte got this in the return leg.

So we weren't clinical. I know that. And that was our biggest issues today (besides Bonucci's brain farts)

So how was this Contes fault?

So, you agree the players should have been more clinical ? Good, that was about the only real issue today
Yes, I expect Chiellini to be more clinical. Our coach left Llorente on the bench and started with Vucinic who was replaced by Osvaldo. How about that for clinical?

Chiellini should improve his finishing. :agree:

And then they say they want us to press teams, have more possession, create more chances... which is exactly what we did tonight. Yet, sometimes that just doesn't work. Like tonight. When the team your facing scores two goals from two chances, and your team messes up a half-dozen.

We lost. It's still a decent result, and sets up a nice home leg battle.
That was the first team we properly pressed a team in Europe in ages. Was impressed.

Yes, we were trying to outpace their defence and did that on numerous occasions.

LETS USE LLORENTE, THE SPEED KING. FOR KLIN, GOD OF TACTICS AND COMMEN SENSE

and for fucks sake, we had many chances and you pick the worse one. Good job.

Everyone needs to calm down. Conte is not a great coach. He is not a great strategist. He is an AVERAGE coach with an ABOVE AVERAGE team. He has an average mentality. He does not like change, and he does not adapt.

Let's face the facts.

Yes we won 2 years in a row and almost 3. But this is what a league that is on a decline. We have great players and we can only thank Moratta.

Conte has HORRIBLE training methods. He tires out his players before the season starts. He does not like subbing players until the 87th minute like he's playing Fifa 14.

When he does substitute, its in Europe.

He is still developing as a Coach, but someone needs to Bitch slap him.

Agreed. I don't see anyone on the forum saying he has anything on the top managers in Europe. He's not at that level yet. He's only had 2 years in Europe now in his entire coaching career to gain experience in the knockout format. If he goes another year or two with group exits in the CL, than I'll agree with others that he is not the right manager for us, going forward. But I doubt this will be the case. I think we'll do quite well next year. There will be quite a bit of hunger.

I blame Conte for two things tonight:

1- He had a plan to defend from the beginning, we conceded early and we are left without a plan (the same thing happened last year against Bayern)
2- We reacted well in the second half, we scored the equaliser and fell asleep. He enhanced the falling asleep by introducing Osvaldo, it's as if he intentionally didn't want to threaten Benfica anymore.

Funny how people were blaming Pep yesterday for his possession tactics and for trying to pass the ball in yesterday, and now people "all of a sudden" defend Conte by claiming we dominated play and possession etc. It was only really an individual brilliance from Tevez that made us score, and Benfica nearly made it a third when they hit the post when it was 2-1
