I will fucking laugh my ass off at a lot of idiots here when we secure the third consecutive scudetto and reach EL final come next week.
Bit presumptious. Quite like me. Coz I'm going with a 1-1 away draw next week for Benfica. :D But no, seriously, even if we don't go through, I won't fault Conte coz we have taken the el seriously and in all honestly completely outplayed some of the teams, most of the time. Including tonight, when Benfica are riding on a 2 out of 2 shots/goals ratio that flatters to decieve Conte's preparation of the team tonight. We were better for large part.

The team we just lost to today doesn't have a single player that would make our first XI. You can't justify these results in Europe any longer. We have a ton of talent on this roster.

I wouldn't be surprised if we beat this team 3-0 today if we had simply dropped Pirlo and Bonucci and pressed them with a 4 man defence.

We should have closed the tie tonight or certainly made it easier for the second leg. We won't face the same Benfica next week.
And they won't face the same Juventus. Guess what, we'll be at home. It's likely Vidal and Barzagli will feature, and Tevez--Llorente start up front. We have the away goal, and the home advantage.

What'd you mean, we won't face the same Benfica next week? Even with some players returning, should offset that or could argue that we would have some of that nullified playing on home turf with 45000 people behind us?

No. We would have conceded several on the counter instead.

Whatever mate. I seriously hope you and a few others are banned from certain threads for a while. The least you all deserve. Spoilt pricks.
There is nobody here that is spoiled. We supposedly are an European superpower and we are struggling against a sub-par Benefica side, not to mention we are near full force squad wise. We are head and shoulders above everyone in this tournament, it is an EXPECTATION for us fan, players, staff member to win this trophy. There is no "we hope we win it", none of that bullshit, no excuses!! Conte has been sub-par, stubborn and very unflexible. Heck he didn't even try to exploit ANY of their weaknesses! Conte has been MEDIOCRE, Juventus has been MEDIOCRE! Third rate at best!!

All that said though, I would say Benfica are still slight favorites to go through for me. 1-1 in Torino me thinks. Hopefully we have the scudetto wrapped up this weekend to get some momentum in.

Umm. Who on earth considers current Juventus a European superpower? This is our second year back in Europe, after two 7th place finishes in Serie A. This is exactly Aus' point. Spoilt fans who think we should be a European superpower again, in just the third year of the Conte project, with our rather small transfer budget, relative to other European "superpowers"...

Perspective. Severely lacking in this thread.

Yep, we'll face a Benfica on our home turf. Will be a big difference for them and us.
Not if we won't change anything.

Common sense.

Vidal and Barzagli won't help us much if we'll remain looking clueless and slow as a turtle.

What'd you mean, we won't face the same Benfica next week? Even with some players returning, should offset that or could argue that we would have some of that nullified playing on home turf with 45000 people behind us?
They'll recover some of their best players who will help them a lot offensively. This wasn't the best Benfica team, trust me.
