I don't know if anyone noticed this, but Thuram isn't NEARLY the player that he used to be.

I really don't see it as a loss if he goes, and despite the minimal fee that Juve will receive, that money could be better used somewhere else.

This isn't Cannavaro we're talking about here.
You're totally right ,Sergio.

I usually am (and that includes Ibrahimovic, you bastard) :D

Seriously though, look at the dynamics of this club.

You have older veterans past their prime who are looking for one last shot of glory (Nedved, Thuram)

And you have veterans who are still in their prime that could honestly be a big service to whatever team acquires them (Zambrotta, Trezeguet, Cannavaro, Buffon)

Then you have those players whose ego don't nearly match their ability, and are delusional enough to think that they are still premier players at their position (Camoranesi, Vieira, Emerson)

These players, for whatever reason, are not going to stay for Juventus in Serie B, especially with little to no hope of promotion if the penalty stands.

And then you have Ibrahimovic (Shut Up) :p

Good riddance to perhaps the most undeserving player to EVER wear our armband. Despite his world cup performance, Thuram has been absolute crap for the past two years anyway.

I'm agree. He's too old anyway, if he wants to leave, fine.

I can only say its a grand pity, and obviously he (and most likely Buffon) are setting the precedence for Cannavaro to leave as well, the three of them having come from Parma and all.I won't blame him for it though. He shouldn't have to bear the punishment for the crimes of others. Not every Juve player is a Juventini.

It seems that he is set to leave, and nothing can stop him from doing so other than the lack of offers....

i dont blame him if he wanted to go ... he wants a CL obvuosly and Barca want him .. its temting for him

maybe he is just pissed off that his teammates beated him in germany . now he cant stay in italy and watch them celebrate ( Joke )

but i thought he was one of those who care about the club more than anything .. i guess i was wrong

i agree with these last two comments

he was always one of my favourite players, and he was always the one alongside zambrotta and dp who NEVER gave up. ill always remember him for his performance against barca in the cl in 2003

id always considered him a juventino though, but hes made his mind up. good luck to him.

Ah yet another bash the Frenchman thread. What would have happened if Italy actually lost the wc final? Did you hear Thuram say these words? Or its okay for players like Zambrotta, Cannavaro and the like to be ambling to leave but its not okay for the frenchmen to do so? Did Juventus get relegated cos these players were not pulling their weight? No. So what loyalty do they owe you guys? Point the fingers of blame at the people that have tarnished the name of this club for good and stop going after the innocent parties.
Why should Thuram and the rest of the squad want to play in seriEB with a 30 point deficit? It does not matter what stage of their careers they are at, they are not abandoning the club cos of a trivial matter like being relegated by playing poorly, they , probably as fair minded sportsmen have been subjected to the worst kind of slander, whether they were part of a cheating campaign to win matches. As there will always be people who would doubt if they were completely innocent in the matter.
To be honest if a player does actually stay it makes me wonder what some ppl at the club have over you, cos I cannot see how guys who have just won the world cup and their profiles are at an all time high will want to play in serieB for a club known the world over as cheats. If they stayed then its gotta be more than meets the eyes than just loyalty

Playing football is a job, not a respective players personal trophy hunt, they get rewarded handsomely with their wages. There is something called loyalty aswell, Totti had a chance to move any number of clubs during his career but has stuck at Roma even though their is little chance of him winning "trophies".

i thought Thuram once said that he will stay
Well he was quoted as saying:

"I will not leave the club for anything.

"I haven't followed the Calciopoli investigation, I've been focused on the World Cup. But you can write this, I am with Juventus, I am a Bianconero player, I feel myself as a Juventino.

"Yes, you can be sure that I will remain with Juventus."
