Still can't decide on the ZTE phone, it looks good and all apart from the camera which I wouldn't use anyway but I've read it can be a bit slow. Would be nice with Android 2.2 too I guess (it has 2.1). Jack?

The Tele2 has the 2.1 but they promised the 2.2 soon. However there are custom ROMs running the 2.2, you just have to root which is highly recommended. The guides are there in English and Swedish.

It's based on Cyanogen, it seems CM7 on my Magic will take a while until it is well developed.

Dunno if you guys heard, but basically Nokia is in serious crisis these days (because they failed to turn their market domination of a few years ago into a competitive advantage), have abandoned definitely their linux-based MeeGo OS and have arrived at a point where their only options were to choose an outside vendor. Android or Windows. They chose Windows. :sergio:

Evidently, Nokia's "more open than Android" was just the briefest of flashes and they have now returned to what they do best: complete proprietary stack. Awful.

MeeGo was a hail mary move. At the time when Nokia decided to bet on MeeGo it was so far behind Android that they never had a chance. Most people thought the whole thing would end in fail. It did. I don't think they ever released a single MeeGo handset (did they?). The linux-on-Nokia handsets predate MeeGo as far as I know.

All I know is the WeTab which is a german companies tablet. Heard it sucked pretty bad too. Imo nokia needs to take advantage of their market share outside of the U.S and also focus on increasing interest in the U.S

I imagine the reason Nokia turned down Android was "because we don't want to be yet another Android vendor", "we are bigger than that", "it wouldn't look good", or something along those lines. Had they gone with Android 3 years ago it would have been different, but by now noone needs their participation for anything.
