He's quickly losing the impetus he brought to our game earlier in the season, but along with him, its the movement around him that's lagging as well. That's what I feel overall. And I don't think Pirlo is or has been a 100 pxt for the last 25 or so days. I mean the last 3-4 gamedays I've seen off him.

The thing is, even though he isn't doing anything spectacular, he still dictates our play. He receives the first pass from the defenders to relieve them of pressure (bar the times where he loses the ball near the box).

give the guy a rest then we can judge.. cause he looks so over abused.
How much rest does he need though? We had 3 week rest when the Napoli game was postponed, then Pirlo served suspension on the match against Cesena and finally he had a 3 week rest during the winter break. That's 7 weeks of rest in the last two and a half months. He played only 6 matches in November, December and half of January.

Pirlo is not dynamic enough to warrant always playing IMO. I don't like the way he plays when we're chasing a goal. Too much of the impetus is put on him, while he's sitting at the half way line. We need to be more aggressive. I think I'd favour the 4-2-4 when we need a goal. Put Del Piero or Mirko in the middle and have the impetus put on them, who are in a more advanced position.

I hate how we always look for Pirlo and it's a pass that must go backwards. It slows our game down when we need to be moving faster. It's like, pass to Pirlo, he looks up, throws hollywood ball into goalie's arms or out wide to Licht. FFS, let's get some play going around the edges of the box instead. Just my opinion anyway. I think he's a big reason why we can't breakthrough late in games.
