I don't understand the rationale in appointing a coach so fast. is it so hard to ring up a few coaches and say 'hey didier, conte left, we need a coach... you interested?' but no they went for the first thing possible. like a few extra days is going to ruin everything.

So we agree that he cares about his investment and for that rason he would like us to become self sufficient club asap, because it woud benefit him in the end. I dont like Elkan btw, but the fact is Exor bailed us in times when we were desperatly lacking funds and most of our team was consisting of mediocre and old players.

Arturo brings much more quality than just attacking threat, hence why just Reus wouldn't make up the difference. We would have improve in at least 1-2 other positions to make up the difference in quality that he brings to the team.

The rumoured numbers are for 50m, that can't buy you shit now. You get one AM for like 35m and what for 15m? some average cm. so far our best buys have been the cheapest ones which really shows that we should not sell them and continue look for good buys like vidal, tevez, llorente, pirlo, barzagli etc and add one top player or so with the money that we do have. it's not like we're going to broke if we don't sell vidal or pogba.

Forget Reus (this was purely hypothetical) and the Vidal sale (which hasn't happened yet) then. So what makes you think we won't be getting more of those bargain deals for good players?

I'm more and more inclined to think that Conte simply left because he was unsatisfied with the transfer market policy and couldn't have a bigger control over it.

So yes, Conte fucked us in the ass.

But then, Agnelli and Marotta decided that the most important now is to have a coach who won't demand anything from them. They will have full control of the club's policies. Conte was becoming too big to bow down to everything they did.

As most know, from June 2015 revenue will increase substantially for Juve due to new financial deals. Also, a relevant part of the financial burden - transfer fee installments of 3/4 years ago, when we made a splash in players like Matri, Quags, Pepe, etc will end.

Thus I believe in one year from now, Agnelli and Marotta will have lots of money to work with, considering that by then, both Vidal and Pogba will be gone for high sums of money. Probably Vidal now, Pogba then.

I feel Agnelli and Marotta will try to completely rebuild the squad in this one year time, to then really aim Europe. I don't believe in heavy signings for this season, and Vidal will probably go away. This will be a sesaon with no expecations on the performance end, starting by our coach, our lack of signings and lack of drive from the players.

Then next season, both Agnelli and Marotta will really have all the power and money to do wathever they like in the mercato, counting on the subservience of Allegri, and the squad will be completely changed.

When Didier is under contract and tied to the French National team, unfortunately yes it is hard to just ring him up. They had to act quickly. The longer you are without a coach, the more difficult it is to figure out what to do with the squad. The negotiation process to get the French Federation to release him from his contract would have taken a while, and that is without taking into consideration that there is now way they would let DD go without finding a suitable replacement first.

it's not "blind faith" in our management. They've been doing a fine job for the past few years and I have no reason to think otherwise even if Conte left.

I think the bottom line here is that considering we are in the middle of July, there was no way Juve were going to be able to hire another coach who is PRESENTLY EMPLOYED to take over the club. Every other club is well into their pre-season as well as their transfer strategy, so there is no way any other team would have given permission to Juve to speak to their coach.

I don't agree. Agnelli and Marotta know exactly what they are doing. Of course they know there are better coaches out there. They just want a guy who will put absolutely no pressure on their work. A guy who is so frustrating that will low expecations for this season. I believe they want this season to be just a transition, with the less possible amount of pressure, to 2015-2016, which is when they will have a lot of money to completely rebuild the squad the way they want, regardless of the coach.

I'm also convinced Vidal is leaving this summer, Pogba the next.

Conte had a meeting with them the day before. They probably knew back then. Agnelli is not stupid. He's the one who chose Conte when no one talked about him. He knows exactly what he is doing getting Allegri. He just want to have all power and no pressure from coaches to deal with the rebuilding of the squad the way he wants, through Marotta.

Such as whom, James?


Mancini, Capello, Hiddink? All of them would have required more than a 2 year commitment at a salary far greater than what they were going to pay considering that the coach they hire would be on a temporary basis. And as far as the latter two that I mentioned, there motivations at this point in their lives would be to build a nest egg for themselves.


And unfortunately, they couldn't wait a couple of more days. A team starting pre-season without a coach? That never happens.


I mean, there is no circumstance under the sun and stars that would make me want Allegri over Conte. Even a once month weekend tryst with Allegri's girlfriend wouldn't convince me.


But, let's face it, they had to act quickly.
