They recently won the CL again out of their comfort zone however.
Whohoo, so all is good?

But this unfortunately dint turn out to be the way of getting out of your comfort zone. This damage is almost on the level of calciopoli. We are yet to see the repurcussions. If Agnelli stays on, things could get worse.
It aint over.

Basically this. Vecchia signora and all the Italian pages on social media people were pretty much against it.

This is actually interesting that the local fans, the ones with a much closer relationship and stronger bond with the club didn’t want it while the “international” fans from wherever the fuck else were all for it.
Actually vecchia signora forums were totally for a super league.

Local fans are usually to set in their ways. Any proposed change will meet with resistance. That mindset cant inspire any progress. They are constantly bombarded with local news, have no wider scope or it cant penetrate through thick layers of disinformations.

What the fuck has hapenned??? What is going on? Most importantly, how the fuck could they not have managed to stick to thier plan for like 2 days? What is it that they didnt manage to foresee?
In short, uneducated illiterate English fans got angry because they actually believed the ESL was replacing their domestic league, got angry and protested, couple of clubs pussied out.

That's just a simplistic view.

Governments got involved, media created a narrative, celebrities spoke up. There was really no leg to stand on when you are witnessing unprecedented global condemnation.

It killed competition. Having the same 15 teams guarantee the big payout every season just means they didn't need to try anymore and was going to actually decrease competition since there was no consequences to doing badly. That's not what football is about.
