The problem is that Del Piero is still our best player. He's much slower now but he's still a master of the game and he's still our leader, noy only as a captain, but he's also our leading goalscorer and assistman.
We sure have to think about the future 'cause he's 34, but you just can't spend 20m eur on someone who's supposed to be a direct replacement for Del Piero, at the time when Del Piero is still our best player.

I really want Cassano here, he's great, but that's exactly why i think of this situation as a big problem. That way, even if we play with a trident, we will have 4 great players, who simply must play and who simply can't be benched. (one of Amauri/Trez in the center, with Cassano, Giovinco and Del Piero being the other 3 players).
On the other hand though, i wouldn't want Cassano to play for Inter or Milan.

Bah, it's way too complicated , i don't want to think about it much. The best scenario would be to strenghten the defense and midfield this summer, Cassano to stay with Sampdoria, and then we can buy him for season 2010/2011 :D

If we fix our defense and midfield first and then determine and secure Giovinco's place in our team.
I would then have little to no reason to oppose Cassano's acquisition next for the 2010/2011 season. That would be at least a logical move, both strategically and tactically (as DP will be retiring or marginally used)

I dont think that there is another club owner who admires that failure spoilt brat like the Elkan. If we make a pre-contract with Doria, they will be pleased to keep him one more year and have their 20-25 guaranteed for the next one...

Is it possible to set up a pre-contract and put money down to keep Sampdoria happy and have him stay there for one more year? Like Allen said for 2010/11 season? I guess buy his rights and then keep him there for another season? I don't know, buy him and loan him out again? LOL it is too complicated. I think though on another note, it is more important we get our defense and midfield set. I have always said we have a stellar front line that will work for at least another year before we need to start looking for frontline replacements. Our backline will not last another season with 3 competitions.

It's possible, but it wouldn't be easy.

I will probably stop using the word decent to describe Grygera after last nite's match. In fact, i hardly rate him anymore ...

I can't believe how he allowed Riise to get pass him, it was as if he juz looked into Medusa and turned into stone. It took him abt 2 seconds to realize that "oh shit, was that Riise, formerly of liverpool that gone by me" and then start tracking back.

Ok over the year I've heard about a million rumours enough to field 3 teams but what I do want to know is does anybody know what kind of money does Juve have for additional contract and transfers?

I have heard that they have set aside 20 million pounds for Neddy's replacement but they really haven't told us what they are willing to spend as a whole.

Can anyone speak intelligently about this?

Gourcuff, he played a great game game again for Bordeaux yesterday, he more realistic transfer than Silva, more cheap than Diego, and more needed than Cassano..
Or Michel Bastos, he scored again for Lille yesterday..
