Seems DE Abraham has signed with the Pats. And they have SS Adrian Wilson visiting tomorrow.

Freeney has either inked with Denver or is close to/in standby depending on whether Dumervil agrees to renegotiate his contract.

Dumervil takes the pay cut, Delmas returns to Detroit for two years. Sorry, KoK.

Sounding like Woodson and Asomugha are going to be 9ers right now.

He hasn't signed with anyone yet. Freeney was coming in for a visit to New England

Actually, Denver scredwed up the paperwork, and he ended up being released.

Just read that about Delmas, so it looks like Woodson and Asomugha

We will see, I guess. At least they have all of those draft picks, and if they don't release Carlos Rogers, there will be more depth with Asomugha

Denver screwed up big time. They just got stuck with almost 5 million in dead money, and now it limits their ability to bring Dumervill back

that was some donkey business :D

So, Dumervil is now a FA and the Broncos, who didn't have much cap room iirc to begin with, take a 5 mil hit anyway ... and they still think his agent made a "mistake"

coz now we prolly drafting te'o
there is always the outside chance he was so bad vs Bama 'cause of the gf hoax but I guess it's that last part that makes drafting him in the 1st something to not exactly look forward to.

My guess would be the Bears and other teams have been scared away by all that media attention, on top of his horrid showing in the title game, and will look at Minter and Brown before Te'o.

And there is always the possibility of getting one of Dansby or Williams in free agency, cap room permitting. With urlacher gone, the Bears LB core could use a vet anyway and doubt they would put all their eggs in a rookie basket, especially one with well documented gullibility issues and carrying a circus on its shoulders..

Ed Reed might be signing.

looks that way. End of another NFL era this one, after Urlacher and the Bears parted ways too.

Stunning that the Bears lowballed Urlacher. Tough business.

They offered one year $2m take it or leave it. He said he wanted 2 years 11.5m but was open to negotiating it.

They better not draft Te'o hoping he will be able to replace him. Te'o is gonna be a massive bust if he is taken in the first round. I could see him maybe being worth a late second rounder. But he is probably more suited for the third round.

if we get free agents my guess would be jones but what sucks is we also got find replacement for roach, not looking good yo
not great looking but not as bad as you are thinking either. Best guess would be you find a replacement for Urlacher in free agency with a seasoned vet and then replace roach in the draft with someone like Brown (kansas st), Greene (rutgers) or Moore (uconn) and all those 3, especially the last two, wouldn't require a 1st round pick either.
That way you'd still have your 1st rounder to spend on the OL or someone like WR Austin if he falls to you and you are feeling adventurous.

that may well have a lot to do with parting ways with Urlacher. Don't know who your new DC is and how much diff his system is compared to RM's but I'd say changes in defensive schemes affect LB's role the most. This could give you a chance to pick the personnel that would best fit the new system and start anew.

Still, I never quite understood why Marinelli left Chicago for a demotion in Dallas (he became DL coach with the cowboys, right) I mean it's one thing if he followed Lovie and be his DC elsewhere but this ...
Maybe had differences with the new Bears GM and just realized it was time to leave.

Te'o won't come anywhere close to the first round, in my opinion. In the right system, he could be, I repeat COULD BE, a Brandon Spikes type of player, but he will be limited to a 2 down linebacker.

X, if the Bears could get Alec Ogletree, that could take some of the sting away from losing Urlacher.

Question is, where does Urlacher go now?

Moore may required a 2nd round pick to acquire him. Sio has been moving up the draft boards very quickly, same as the OLB from Southern Miss (Damn, the name escapes me right now)
