Numbers on Glenn Dorsey

2 years/ 7 million

Word is the Bills are starving for more draft picks, and might dangle the #8 pick to San Francisco for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Not sure I would do that, unless Star Lotulelei is there.

Sean Smith has signed with the Chiefs.

Wow, they are doing a fantastic job this offseason. Now they have Dunta Robinson and Sean Smith to go with Eric Berry in that Secondary.

Chiefs are indeed quietly building themselves a nice team there. And they already had a number of good players, just the team was shit, which i think would change with Andy Reid now on board. His touch is starting to show and I expect them to be a tough opponent this year.

Have they lost anyone else of note besides Sapoaga and Goldson? If not, I wouldn't be too worried as long as they can get one of Delmas, Pollard or Reed to replace the former and already got that KC bust Dorsey, who with some proper coaching could become a good player at the very least. And they have like what 50 picks in the draft too? Should be able to get at least one of Cyprien, Reid, Elam, Thomas, Swearinger, etc ... maybe even two of those. Goldson was good but far from irreplaceable. Same goes for loading on DTs as an alternative to Dorsey.
Ricky Jean-Francois is also testing the market, don't expect him back. D line is quite shallow right now.

Tell me about it. I guess I wouldn't mind him too much if it is truly an incentive laden deal. Here's somehting that just got reported.

Read into it what you will

Matt Barrows:

Just chatted with a cheerful Jim Harbaugh, who spoke to the SJ State football team today. Harbaugh has a large, stitched gash on his ...

... Forehead and a cut in his lip. "I'm back to drinking and fighting again," he said. He was joking. Right?

Harbaugh said he had to get back to 49ers HQ to meet with free agent safety Louis Delmas. Also confirmed visits by Asomugha & Skuta.

He's such an intense guy, probably smoked his head off a wall while reacting to the Harvin deal. Or celebrating the Boldin acquisition :D

Delmas would be very interesting. Still so young, I hope those knees are doing well. Also, in terms of Nnamdi, if it really is a 1 year deal, I'm all for it. He seems like such a good guy, I think he'd fit in well, and the risk/reward is definitely acceptable for me. Playing to prove the doubters wrong, and for a final contract. On a strong unit, he'll be very serviceable at the least; definitely drafting that position, anyway, so this makes some sense to me given the money tied up on D.

I'm not so sure there was anything quiet about it. For all that talent on the team, and 6 pro bowlers is testament to that, it was bad coaching and bad QB play. Now, Alex Smith won't be what Joe Montana was when he went there, but he brings stability to that offense. Defense certainly wasn't the problem with Kansas City last year, despite what the numbers may say. If your defense had to play 50 minutes per game on the field, there wouldn't be anything left in the tank by week 8.

I can already see that the 49ers are probably going to have 3 comp picks for 2014

Ricky Jean Francois, yes THAT Ricky Jean Francois, has just agreed to a 4 year, 22 million dollar contract with the Colts.

Yes, you heard me correctly.

That award that I gave to Indy a couple days ago still stands.

quiet in the sense that only player that has raised some noise they've added this free agency is Smith. No big-name signings or splashy contracts, that I can recall at least. It all started with adding Reid there first, he seems to know what he wants.

as for the Colts, was that award for dumbest approach to free agency? If so, thye've got my vote, with Donald Thomas, the former Pats guard being the only exception so far.

Delmas would be very good pick up if he manages to stay healthy.

SJ to Atlanta was the worst kept secret in the NFL, tbh :p ... He will be a big boost for their running game, I think

Not sure the Eagles are getting much of an upgrade with CB Williams but guess a new coach would want new personnel too. 17 mil for 3 years still seems too much considering the market and the pool of free agents.
Kenny Phillips would definitely be an improvement over what they had ... if he stays healthy.

Some talk about the Pats trying to bring Revis Island into Boston Harbor but not sure if there is truth to it - have supposedly offered the Jests the 29th pick this year, conditional on reaching a long-term deal with Revis :xfinger:
Time will tell if there is any truth to this, in the meantime I will be in the bathroom :D

I'm thinking that because it's a divison Rival, the Jets would want more than that.

not many trading partners it seems - the circumstance of his current contract, his salary demands, as well as the Jets situation would make this a tough deal to broker. So far, only the Bucs have shown some interest and they seem to be unwilling to offer anything like a 1st rounder this year.

I'd generally agree with you but I think the Jets are well aware that the Pats are not their competitors and probably won't be for another sevreal years and by then Revis will likely be 30+ anyway. And the Jets are rebuilding now and Revis would be less than useless to them.

I also have a hard time believing they would trade - not just for a 1st rounder only but altogether - to another AFC team, let alone to a division rival, let alone to the Pats but if that's indeed the cae, it would be more out of spite than anything else as the Jets are unlikely to be relevant again for another 2-3 years, at the very least.

That would be insane if the Patriots could get Revis. Goes without saying.

As far as Delmas is concerned, this is the guy I've wanted since Free Agency began.
