Nice. My mom is from West Virginia, so I always root for the Mountaineers.

But being from Florida, I'm a Gator. :)
    Awesome, where is she from?

By some, you are favored for the national title. Many think with your returning players, along with how "down" the Big 11 is, gives you a good chance to run with it.

And Central Michigan caught your eye? At least they have a squad, Navy and TROY catch mine...

Notre Dame got that ranking because they finally won their first bowl game since 1993, I believe. Come on guys, beating Hawaii has got to be good for something.

ND has a shit easy schedule this year, and with their special status they should steal a BCS spot from a more deserving team by the end of the year.

I'm not overly optimistic. We lost too many good players after last season.

    #23 - Notre Dame
That is a major joke indeed.

Notre Dame has a very explosive offense coming back, so we'll see what happens, and most of their opponents with the possible exception of USC are looking at having an off year.

And as far as these pre-season polls are concerned, I hate them. It automatically disqualifies 95% of the teams out there from even having a sniff at a BCS berth before the season even starts. IF anything, they shouldn't even come out with a poll until after the first 4 weeks of the season.

Ahh, this whole system is flawed without some sort of a playoff, anyway. The only major college sport that doesn't have a playoff. Go figure.

    This is ND's schedule.

    2009 Notre Dame Football Schedule
    Sept. 5 NEVADA
    Sept. 12 at Michigan
    Sept. 19 MICHIGAN STATE
    Sept. 26 at Purdue
    Oct. 3 WASHINGTON
    Oct. 10 Open Date
    Oct. 17 USC
    Oct. 24 BOSTON COLLEGE
Oct. 31 vs. Washington State (at San Antonio, Texas)
    Nov. 7 NAVY
    Nov. 14 at Pittsburgh
    Nov. 21 CONNECTICUT
    Nov. 28 at Stanford

Meh, the schedule isn't anything special. Boston College may be another surprise this year, but USC is the only really tough opposition for Dame. And of course they have their toughest games at home once again.
