Sure he did, but it doesn't mean he played poorly in all those matches, and it doesn't mean he didn't add to the team. He sat out a couple matches those months as well.
Then when Iaquinta went cold and went out with injury, Amauri started scoring. Could it be that Iaquinta was holding him back?
Our first major loss came at the hands of Napoli at home. Do you know who started that match? I'll tell you what, it wasn't Amauri.
It's so easy to come up with these half-wit connections that simple minded folk love to address, but isn't that simple.

And you are right, he barely played in that awful Napoli game. But, scoring wasn't the problem in that game if you ask me. We were overrun in the mid & at the back in the 2nd half, but we did convert our own chances.
And even before that Napoli game, Amauri had some bad games. I remember him being quite bad at home against Bologna & away to Genoa. He also was absolutely terrible away to Palermo (granted, the entire team was pretty bad, but he was even worse than most).
Now, as for who the better player is between Iaq & Amauri: I simply do not know. Main difference between the 2 being that Iaquinta is supposed to be a bit more flexible in terms of formation(s). Plus, I still regard Amauri as a guaranteed starter, while Iaquinta has never been that at Juve. Maybe that clouds my judgement a bit, I don't know.
