He said
"I don't know where I'll play next year, I am concentrated on the Euros, my agent will work on that. I just want it to be resolved but it's up to the two teams, right now I am a juventus player. My objective is to play where I am wanted the most"

He is not going to make it in Madrid. Those who got rid of Raul, a club icon, will not be half as patient with him and wherever else he goes will be a step down. He shoud make his stay here permanent and club should grant him a starting spot instead of Mandzukic who was quite useless for the big part of the season.

Yep a glorified loan
There's quite a difference between a loan where we shell out money, and end up minus a few million... and a buyback where we end up +10 million.

It's absurd how many forum members share this opinion to some extent. So much nonsensical whining about playing time for Morata and borderline criminal underrating of Mandzu. :sergio:

I already acknowledged that, but in a sense we are unwillingly returning a player as if he was just borrowed to us for these past two years. Any case this is becoming silly, bottom line it'd be better to sort out his buyback option right now than next year IMO.

also, mandzukic ended the season with a playtime of ~2000 minutes, while morata had ~1500, and both missed a similar number of matches (7-10 i guess) due to injuries. and let's not forget morata's 1000+ minutes of goal drought along the way.

morata got his chances, and while he had a slow start, mandzu proved to be an important player.

I agree with this. Although I would more so like sorting out the buyback and having him stay here another year, with the knowledge that he will go back next year. I think he'll be very motivated, along with the rest of this team to make a run at the CL next year. And he suits the competition for us very well.

Keeping for one more year would also help us focus on our needs in midfield this summer. And then with a more complete squad after this year, we could much more easily focus on replacing Morata.

Basically, ideal for me (assuming Madrid using their buyback), would be them leaving him here on loan for 1 more year.

His performance is not anywhere near acceptable. If you're ok with a striker who is comfortable with ball as much as Chiellini, that's your problem.
